Ok, the paper jam could be due to one of the following:

  • Check for paper in the paper tray
  • Check the size of the paper in the paper tray to see if it is the same as what the printer is set for.
  • Defective D-roller
  • Debris in the paper path
  • Gears not turning or broken gear
  • Defective paper tray
  • Broken input sensor flag
  • Defective input sensor board
  • Defective system cable 2
  • Defective system board
  • Exit Sensor flag (Fuser)
  • Exit Sensor board (Fuser)
  • System cable 1
If there is no bit of paper or debris stuck in the rollers, it would indicate something more serious, and in need of servicing. If your machine is under warranty, I suggest you take it back to the shop and get it replaced.
If your warranty has run out, then you'll either have to get it serviced or buy a new printer (whichever works out cheaper for you)

Hope that helps!

Hi,

Follow these steps:

Take the paper out of the paper trays. This will prevent any more paper from being drawn into the printer to further the jam.
2Remove the cover from the housing of your Lexmark laser printer. This will expose the inner workings of the printer, and you also should be able to see the jammed paper. Pull gently on the jammed paper. In many cases this is all that is required; the paper jam should move out slowly and smoothly. Press the flashing paper jam button. This will allow the rotors to turn freely, which will facilitate the easy removal of the jam. Unplug your Lexmark laser printer if the jam persists. This will allow you to pull more firmly without the gears working against you. 6Examine the inner workings and confirm that all paper and shreds of paper have been removed. If the paper tore during the clearing, make sure none remains or it will inhibit normal printer function. Plug the printer back in, refill the paper tray and try to print again. Goodluck, Please don't forget to rate or accept the solution

Hello there.

Please try the following tips, from the manual.

Paper misfeeds or jams Paper misfeeds or multiple sheets feed through the printer Make sure: The printer is on a flat, level surface. The paper is recommended for inkjet printers. You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loadingletter or A4 size paper, the topedge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder. You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper. The paper guide is against the left side of the paper and it does not cause the paper to bow in the sheet feeder

So I assume the computer is coming up with this error, Do you know whether there is paper in the printer or not that is causing this error or does the printer just think there is?

The outside panels should open up and you should see some rollers which may have paper stuck in them. Check for stuck paper or any other object and simply pull it out. Pulling paper out the way it went in won't wreck the printer.

If there isn't any object, you can try resetting the printer by unplugging it and the plugging it back in.

Let me know it neither of the above suggestions work or if you just need some more help or can provide more information on this.

thanks

Please give me the name of a printer that WORKS with writing checks in Quicken using Windows Vista 64. My HP all in one does not - printer jams every time.

HP will work. The jam is a paper problem not a hardware or software issue. Try line feeds without printing. HP also makes the best printer paper so don't skimp on that. Moisture in the paper is the most common paper jam problem aside from debris getting into the rollers. If line feed fails then physically inspect the whole paper path. I have Canon, Epson, Dell, HP and Lexmark printers with Quickbooks Pro. They all work. Paper is your problem barring a banana falling into the rollers. Never leave paper in a printer for a long time as it will stick to itself. Steve

I have an all in one Lexmark 6500 Series printer I recently purchaced. I'm getting an error message to clear a paper jam and press the check between the two arrows. I have double checked the printer for...

Do the following:

Take out cartridge and put them back in place.
Unplug power cord.
Turn printer upside down and shake it a bit, to look for foreign objects such as small screws etc.
Open all printer doors and look for fragments of paper.
Close all doors and plug printer back.

If after this the printer does not clear the error it is probably faulty.

Please help, my lexmark z1300 printer begins to pull paper down as if to print but then gets all jammed and starts to rip. I've checked paper and I couldnt get it in there any straighter.what do I do?

Re-check the paper feeder for anything small that might be stuck in the path of the paper,if the printer is not heavy try turning it upside down and giving it a good shake see if any obstacles will fall out.If not u might have to check the colaboration of the mechanism to see wheher its working as it should.
