Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hi, I have a Asus Eee 1000he, it's been working just fine however I dropped it on my bed and heard a strange noise. Now when I turn it on it doesn't boot up, it just brings up a prompt stating "windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \system32\ntroskrnl.exe Please reinstall a copy of the above file. What does this mean and is there anything I can do? I have a OS cd but no cd-drive. Thanks a lot

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a asus Eee pc notebook, when i turn it on the message REBOOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE appears how do i do that?

check if there is any fashdrive or memory card plugged in. if it shows that message it might mean your pc cant detect a bootable harddrive. was it working before? was it dropped or bumped maybe the harddrive got loose. at the bootup screen do you see your harddrive? if your pc can still detect your harddrive try installing a fresh copy or your operating system. hope this helps.

ASUS Eee PC 1000H DIY 1000HE chiclet keyboard upgrade

ASUS have been gradually transitioning to chiclet-style keyboards on their Eee PC netbooks, with the latest model to get the new style being the Eee PC 1000HA. If you're an existing owner looking longingly at the new layout, meanwhile, and specifically have an ASUS Eee PC 1000H, you can fudge your own update with the keyboard from the Eee PC 1000HE.

It's not just an aesthetic upgrade, either. ASUS bizarrely played around with the keyboard layout on the 1000H, one of the most obvious changes being the right-hand shift key getting nudged across by the up arrow. The 1000HE keyboard, however, has a more standard layout.

There's a little modification required before the keyboard panel slots in - basically snipping off a few metal tabs - but it looks relatively easy from EeeUser.com forum member Barovelli's photos (some of which are reproduced here). Not all users are reporting 100-percent key success, however, so don't throw away your old 'board.

The replacement 1000HE keyboard is priced at $15 through ASUS; however, it's currently listed as out of stock.

You can download the drivers from ASUS WEB site. Selectyour model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select the Windows XPor Vista version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system. Please click on this link to their WEB support site : - http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

My asus Eee1005H runs ok, with power adapter., the orange light lumen ok . As the power adapter pull out,the note book fully powerd off. I opend the Battery to find bed or open cell, but i found that...

I should buy a new battery. It may have a short circuit cell and work fine on 12Volts.
Don't put the old one in the dustbin, take it to a recycling centre to avoid poisoning people in 50 years time.

My speaker on my asus eee 1000he is not working corectly. I'm unable to here people speak they sound as if the volume is turned way down and can not here most music clearly. Even with headset it does not...

the sound card in n that netbook is a very weak one, alot of people complain, could be that
could also be that you have the wave volume turned down...
go to start
control panel
sound and audio devices
right under the volume slider click the advanced tab
make sure all tabs there are maxxed out
if that doesnt work
turn dolby on, suposedl;y that helps...
if that doesnt work, turn the volume up all the way, play a soft song, like saxaphone music, adn get the speaker close to your ear, if you can barely hear the music, and get about the same amount of static or white noise, you have a shorted circuit with the internal sound system...
