Select Start - Control Panel - Appearance and Themes - Display - Appearance tab - then make sure under font size that 'normal' is selected.

Another thing you want to check, before you exit off of the display window, click the settings tab and try to move the slider to 1024 x 768 pixels, then click apply. If the slider won't move from 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768 then your graphics driver needs to be reinstalled. If this is the case then that is the reason you are receiving the error.

Any EIDE (non Sata) interal drive should work on this computer. However, first I would check the internal cables on the drive to ensure the are plugged in tight (you may just have a loose cable). Check both the mother board end and the drive end.

Personally I would go puppy linux over 98, but that is me.

Hope this helps, have a great day and good luck.

Cd instil

if you are trying you to say there is a CD in CD-Rom drive and you can't get it out, then it is quite easy to remove the CD. There is a very small hole by the eject button on CD-ROM. You will need to put a very thin and strong tool and push it forward through the hole. This will eject CD.

My cd rom keeps saying no disc and the computer

First thing to try is to clean the DVD lense. a lense cleaner can be purchased any from Best-Buy to Wal-Mart. It's essentially a CD with a built in brush. This will clean the lense.

if that doesn't work, it may be time to replace the drive. DVD-ROM drives can be purchased for as little as $20 now, it may be worth your time to just replace it. It is possible that the motor that spins the DVD has gone bad, but it is highly unlikely.

My computer will not read any of my disk or install

when you say disk did you mean hard disk? if you do... did you recenlty install a new hard disks?... if you did... did you check the jumper-master-slave configuration when installing the new hard disk?
only one hard disk can be configured as master in each ide channel. set up to master (not single) the one on the end of the ide cable and set up to slave the one attached to the midlle of the ide cable.
check that both hard drives are properly attached to the cable and that the power cable is properly seated.

when you say disk did you mean cd rom disks or dvd disks?
does it work in other computers? if it doesnt.. you cd/dvd disks may be the problem
are you trying to read a dvd disk on a cd rom only drive... you can't read a dvd in a cd rom drive.
if you cd/dvd rom drive should read the disk you're putting in, check in device manager if your system detects the cd/dvd rom drive. if it doesn't: check the physical connections (reseat ide cable, check jumper configuration for slave and master on your cd/dvd rom drive and check that the power cable is properly seated), check also in device manager the properties of the cd/dvd rom drive and check if it says on device status if the device is working correctly. if it doesn't post the error code that it may give you or google a solution with error code.

suggestion.. be more specific when posting your questions.. that way it will be easier for a solution to be provided as your issue could be interpreted in different ways

Canot open cd player the light for it isnt comming on either I tried to open manually but still cant open it

You mean the CD-ROM of the computer?

Steps:

1. Try to check if the power supply is plugged in. You need to open the side cover of your system unit and try to use a different available power connector.

2. Another thing is you can see a small reset hole next the eject button on the front panel of your CD-ROM. Try to use a paper clip and push it.

We'll wait for your response. Hope this helps.

Re: lg tower xp install

Hi,
the boot device setup in the bios, if you set atapi-cd rom as first boot device. then hdd second. and fdd last.
it appears that you have a faulty connection from the IDE ( 40-80 wire cable ) that runs from the motherboard Primary/secondary slot. check the cable goes from motherboard to hard-drive and is connected firmly, also check the jumper blocks ( small white plastic block ) is set to master or slave on both devices ( cd-hard-drive ) if both on same cable set hard-drive to slave and CD rom to master. if they are both set as master or slave, they will conflict with each other.
if you need further help, please mail back.

DVD/CD rom not working

Try rebooting the PC. If that doesn't work, you'll need to check BIOS to see what the settings are. Also check the cables to the drive, especially if anyone has been inside. Other than that, I suppose it could be a bad drive.
