From your description , the control board is bad . This board is located behind the refrig , on the left side at the bottom , inside a white plastic case . Only 2 screws hold this case on , and it snaps apart to reveal the board . It costs about $ 80 and is easily replaceable . Take your complete model number with you so you get the correct part . I determine this due to when the door is opened and the refrig section lights do NOT come on ( the temp control lights also ) , this is a bad board 100% of the time .

GE refrigerator model #LTC19340ST freezer door not sealing

That is a common problem with over-under units. You can clean or replace the door seal or, tilt the unit back a TINY bit. The door pops open because there is a common airway from the freezer to the fridge. When the fridge door shuts too fast, it pushes a lot of air into the unit. It needs to go somewhere so, it pops the freezer door open. If you shut the freezer hard enough, you will be able to pop the fridge door open.

The refrigerator door was left open and now the refrigerator is off

Try unplugging the unit for 5 minutes to allow the control board to reset. When you plug it back in, everything should work fine. If not, you may have to replace the control board.
Hope this helps.

My kenmore elite 106.59966803 beeps every two minutes. Doors are shut and the unit seems to be working fine. Any suggestions?

if the refrigerator is beeping -- then this is a sign that the door switch is not working properly, loose or broken.
to stop the beeping --- press and hold the "lock/alarm" button on the control panel until the indicator light turns off. ( this turns off the 'doors open' alarm ) --- now if you get the door switch fixed and you want to turn the 'door open' alarm back on, then press and hold the " lock/alarm " button again until the indicator light come back on.

The door doesn't shut easily. Plastic spacer is broken? Can I find a new part?

  1. Check that the doors shut correctly. Hold each door about halfway open, then let go. If the doors don't shut completely, adjust the screw legs on the front of the refrigerator so the unit tilts back a bit. With adjustable pliers, turn each leg one revolution clockwise. Recheck the doors and, if necessary, repeat the process until they shut securely.
  2. Step 2 Inspect the door gaskets. Look for debris that may keep the doors from shutting. Also check for cracks or gaps in the gaskets that could allow the cold air to seep out. If you find debris, clean the gaskets with warm, soapy water. If you find cracks or gaps, you'll need to replace the gaskets
  3. Step 3 If your refrigerator is equipped with a door-frame heater that evaporates condensation, make sure the heater is turned on. The switch should be located with your other refrigerator controls.

Our GE upright freezer door keeps opening on its own! Our food is starting to melt and the manual only talks about tightening the refrigerator door. What should i do?

Your refrigerator is leaning forward to far and you need to adjust the front legs so that it is slightly leaning back. This is why the doors are opening as they work by gravity. On the bottom left and right front corners of your refrigerator you should round pads with threaded legs screwed it the bottom of your refrigerator. You need to lean the unit back and adjust these out to raise the front of your refrigerator until the doors when opened will slowly shut on its own. A level comes in handy for leveling also.

Defrost problem

No there is nothing to reset. It could be one of three things. Let the unit defrost completley. Take the same back pannel off. Check to see if your heater at the bottom is discolored or if you can see thats its broken inside. The next thing it could be is the limith switch which is located on the top of the evaperator. If both those seem fine you can go to the back of the unit and check the main control board. Most of the time its the heater though.

Good Luck

Liftmaster pro 1/2 hp wont shut in one button press

You have a door sensor problem. Either your main light bulb is burned out or you don't have one in your opener. The clicking sound you hear is the relay for the light. Both of the door sensors should have a small light that is lit. Tweak them until they are.

Remove the center grill of the top grill and shut the power off and back on, the lights should reset

When the lights are working open the Ref door then close the freezer drawer, watching to see if the light in the freezer shuts off. It should shut off when the freezer is about 1" from closing. If it stays on until the door is fully closed then there is a problem with the light switch in the freezer.

Normally when you leave the doors open until the lights shut off, it should reset when both doors are closed
