Sounds like you simply blew a power supply!

not a biggy hoping of course it hasnt sent current down to the components.. take it to a computer shop and get them to test the power supply, all going well it will be one out, one in and your up and running again.. good luck!

Yeah, you might not have seen the needle getting farther over and the coolant might've gotten boiled during that time, which gets progressively worse the longer you drive it.Bottom line is.............the fan has gotta run.
Put the AC on MAX and that should kick the fan on at the radiator. If not, find out why. don-ohio

Good afternoon. I disassembled my Asus eeepc 900hd to fix a fan noise; in doing that, the connector of the touch pad went outside its alluminium adesive holder. How can I put it bak in place?

Do you mean on the keyboard side, or the motherboard side? If it was keyboard side, there's nothing that can be done except buy a new keyboard. If it's on the motherboard side, there should be a clamp that can be released by either sliding or lifting slightly. Insert the ribbon cable back into the contact, and close the clamp.

mcdevito75 here, Your Monitor could be bad, (blown out) a monitor is just like a lite bulb. start your computer verify fan is on, verify monitor is on with on off switch on monitor, press shift key on keyboard maybe your computer is on stand by or hybirnation, also click the mouse at the screen left click and right click to bring picture to screen, if picture on monitor ok, if not press AUTO on the monitor, this brings back factory settings to your monitor. If all this fails, bring your monitor to a Radio Shack, Staples etc. for testing.

Acer Aspire 5052 nothing on LCD

If the LCD display worked until the processor over heated and then went blank, and would work again once it cooled down, then yes I do. As you described above, the screen going blank and blank still on reboot ( no time to cool down ), then the next day the LCD displayed again ( cooled down over night ). Appears to be directly related to the over heating problem.
But if the display problem progressed to the point that the PC would boot up cold and the display was still blank, then I would think your graphics card will need repair.
