Sounds like the breather on cap is faulty , replace cap

the stopping is most likly a coil going open circuit when hot
and is not producing spark

best way to test is to place a home made tester in line with the h t cap and the spark plug and re run and see if spark fails when hot - then retry cold if spark returned - faulty coil is confirmed

to make a tester

cut a hole of 20 - 30 mm in diameter in a 2 " square piece of wood - drill a hole ( using 3.5 mm drill bit ) in opposite sides all the way through to the centre - then fit a nail that has been sharpened to a point into each hole you drilled
now push the nail points together in the centre of the large hole you cut so that the pointed ends are no closer than 5.00 mm
apart ( you may need to cut the nail heads off )

fit this in between the ht lead and the plug tip
and you might need to tape the unit up so that it stays in place
while you test

try making tester because you can use it on other things as well

cheers

Be R 400 leaf blower runs for 5 minutes then walk down and backfires .

If this is your problem, then you will be SHOCKED to know that it is a very minor problem and a very easy fix!

Believe it or not, your gas cap is clogged up with dirt and debris. When a carburetor is unable to get a constant flow of air from outside, pressure builds up on the fuel tank. The fastest way to determine whether or not this is the problem is as follows.

As you are using your machine, at that point when it begins to stall out, loosen the gas cap so that you release the pressure that is built up in the gas tank. If the engine begins to regain power, then you know it is a clogged gas cap. (Simply get a small wire and clear the breathe holes in the cap.) If the engine dies even after loosening the gas cap, then you may want to check to make sure the air breather is clean. ( A dirty air breather can cause the engine to over heat and stall out.)

If none of this cures you problem, then you have a bad Ignition Coil (Module- This is the part that connects to the spark plug.) When these start going bad, they will stop working once they get hot. So if you can start your machine again once it has cooled down for 20 minutes or more, then you know this is the problem. You can sometimes find used ones for 1/3rd of the price of a new one.

Have a Husqvarna 150Bt Leaf Blower back pac. When I start it up and use it for about 5 to 10 minutes it stops. I start it up again and it goes for a few minutes and dies again.

It is possible for the gas tank vent to plug. To test for this open the gas gap after it stalls. Listen for the vacuum to release as you first crack the cap. If you here the sound it is a certain tell that the tank as the fuel is consumed by the blower is creating a vacuum which intern prohibits the fuel from entering the carburetor.

After releasing the vacuum the engine should start and run for several more minutes before repeating the cycle. Each blower has its own solution to allow for venting while minimizing fuel leakage,

For your particular machine a specific part is required if you determine that a plugged vent is the root cause.

It is possible that the engine is overheating. The root cause would be debris caught in the air passages that allow air to flow around the air cooled cylinder. If the machine gets very hot the heat will travel up past the heat dam gasket and baffle reaching the carburetor. This excessive heat would vapor lock the carburetor stopping the feeding of the fuel into the engine.

Close examination to ensure that all air passages are clear of leaves and debris is required. An air hose/vacuum may be helpful if you determine that the passages are blocked.

The third possibility would be a spark coil that fails as the engine gets warm. A qualified technician may be required to confirm this failure.

Why is it failing?

open gas cap and see if it will run again. m,any times the gas tank vents clog and the engine can't draw gas after a few minutes.
another thought is the oil mixture.. 50:1 with oil made for air cooled engines....not boat engine oil

Blower stops running after approximately 10 minutes

many times gas tank vent gets clogged then engine will run until engine creates a huge vacuum in tank and can't draw gas.

Loosen gas cap to Vent the tank to see if that's the issue

Cant start my craftsman leaf blower

Chances are your carburator has dirt in it.
It doesn't take much to clog those little carbs.
Empty the gas tank and clean it.
Purchase a can of small engine carburator cleaner. Comes in a spray can for about $5 at Home Depot or Lowes.
Remove the carburator and disassemble it.
Soak the body in clean gasoline for about 15 minutes if you can, agitate it to help the gas disolve any clogs.
Clean the ports with the spray cleaner to blow out any debris.
Reassemble and remount the carb.
Remove, clean and gap the spark plug
Refuel the gas tank with new clean gas

My 130bt blower stops reving after several minuets. Will start but not rev after running fine for 5-7 minuets?

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. The next time it does this... loosen the gas cap a lot momentarily for about 10 seconds then tghten it and attempt a restart. If if starts right away again the gas cap is bad. It is supposed to breathe via a rubber seal in the cap. There are 5 parts in the cap. If it can not breathe the gas tank goes into a vacuum as fuel drains and you will experience fuel starvation.

Also check inside the fuel tank for debris.

130BT (I used the 2001 - 2007) There is also a 2008-2010 choice
and then click on Fuel tank a.s.s.y

I suspect the problem is either going to the the fuel cap or the fuel filter.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Sears blower Mod. 358.797550, 2 cycle. problem with leaking gas after use on control / carberator side of blower

This is probably caused by a cracked fuel line, or loose fit of fuel line where it enters the tank. Try loosening the fuel cap after use just a bit, to let pressure escape, then tighten the cap. As the fuel cools, it will create a bit of a vacuum in the tank. Should cut down on the leak a fair amount, if not totally.

Gas is leaking from the leaf blower.

Unless the tank has been cracked, it has to be one of the following: Broken lines, split primer bulb, unsealed fuel cap, bowl gasket of carb. I would start with the lines and bulb since they are the ones usually at fault..Good luck...Lee

Just bought a used leaf blower, homelite, gas leaks out of the gas tank, where the gas tube fits into it.

"top of the gas tank where the gas tube fits into the tank"

I assume you're describing the gas tank cap. if so, the o-ring is missing from the gas tank cap. You can find those at hardware stores.

Blower starts with a full tank of gas then stalls

The fuel cap has a rubber air bleed valve to allow air into the tank during running. My blower ran for about 5mins, then slowed down and stopped. When I opened the fuel cap, you can hear an air rush, indicating low pressure in the tank which starves the engine of fuel. Problem was solved by clearing the blockage in the cap.
