Question about Coleman Powermate Premium Plus 6250W Portable Generator

Open Question

We bought a Black Max with a Honda motor Model #10700DR from Sam's Club today. It is missing the fuel cap, the key for the electric start, the oil plug and the owner's manual. Where can I obtain thes items and what will be the cost. Unfortunately, it was the only generator they had with the Honda motor which is why we went ahead and bought it even missing those items. I could not find generators on the list of experts so if I am sending this to the wrong person, please forward to the correct expert. Please help! Thanks Bev

SOURCE: looking for manual for generator...won't start

I had the exact same problem. There a few things you need to do first.
1) Make sure the fuel line knob is turned to the Open position; this knob is located under the gas tank.
2) Turn the power switch to on : it is a little red switch located near the pull-handle on the front of the generator. It needs to be on 'I' not on 'O'
3) Turn the choke lever on: it is a little steel lever with an arrow at the tip. Move the lever in the direction the arrow is pointing.
4) Make sure you have gas left in the tank: it may have evaporated or gummed up if you did mix in a fuel stabilizer before putting it away for storage.

If none of these things work , then you carburator may be full of water and gas lines gummed up.
These Gens need to be started up at least once a month to make sure they keep working properly.

SOURCE: I HAVE A GENERATOR THE MOTOR SURGES ONLY WHEN LOAD ARM IS CONECTE

replace the pink plastic jet and two O-rings (center of carb) and clean out the shaft they are in with Q-tip and solvent, blow out with compressed air prior to assembly, make sure a old O-ring is not down in the hole as this is a very common mistake made by many who make repairs, one O-ring will remain in the shaft after you pull the jet out. 4 out of 6 gens that surge have this problem especially if you hear a small amount of backfiring . the bottom jet must be very clean as well if it is the newer model without the thumb screw.

There are several things that could cause this problem. First is when was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? Next thing you need to do is open your radiator cap to see if there is oil in your coolant and also pull your oil dipstick to see if there is any white stuff on the bottom of the dipstick. If either of these things are true then you have a blown head gasket. The last thing could be a bad coil or even engine control unit (ECU). Good luck.

You've already eliminated the spark plug & wireset, distributor cap & rotor.
Sounds like your car needs a tune-up, specifically, the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, and/of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve.

Components checked/replaced during a tune-up are:
air filter
motor oil
motor oil filter
breather filter
fuel filter(s)
fuel strainer
PCV valve
EGR valve
spark plugs
spark plug wires
ECM or distributor cap & rotor
cabin air filter
transmission oil filter
transmission oil
engine coolant
check all vacuum hoses and lines

I have an Model: GR3055-014684 Grill from sams club and their was no assembaly instuctions or manual. Can i down load them and where do i go to get them.

Apparently, you're not the only customer who purchase this Hybrid Grill, got home, only to discover the Owner's / Assembly Manual was missing. On the Sam's Club website they list a number 888-837-1380 to call if you have any questions, parts missing, etc. I could not find any on-line manuals for this imported grill. Sadly, you may have to wait until later this week, to assemble the grill. Or go back to Sam's Club and ask them to copy a manual from the display model grill.

Hope this helped you.

check engine light? check oil level, low oil possible engine damage.is there gas in tank?guages can lie, add a gallon if not sure. when key is turned on, not all the way to start, can you hear the fuel pump, an electric motor sound? have someone listen above the tank with trunk open or listen under tank. past this, check if spark plugs are working, remove a plug, put wire back on, rest plug on metal to ground, turn motor and check for spark. please rate answer.

The oil dipstick is on the left side. What is the blsck screw cap on the right side?

Is this a cap?

Might it be the clutch adjuster?

It might be worth while for you to join the Honda Riders Club ... costs about $30.00 or so. Google it ... With the membership, you now have access to the service manual for your particular bike. You can download and print it as well.

You may want to look at www.archive.org for this information. For the price of the membershihp, you will get it nearly instantly at Honda.

Good luck to you

Where can I find an owners manual for a Black Max 8125/ Honda GX390 OHV generator? I searched Honda's site but not there, no black max site. My lawn guy pulled a wire off and I need to see where it is...

low oil sensor will not cause the motor not starting.
most likely is th ground wire.
you can try to attach that wire to any surface and try to start it. of it start, then you have to dis-assemble the head and find out where the wire should be attached.
if not, the wire is attached to a hot side. either way you have to dis-assemble the head.

here is the site for the manual.
