Question about Daewoo DSA-122L Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Throws or sprays lots of water out the front on a daily basis which is soaking the carpet and furniture. The window unit is over ten years old and has been running non-stop for at least 5 years.

It sounds like that unit is getting a bit low on charge and is freezing up a bit....maybe even needs a good cleaning of the indoor coil... that would make it freeze also.

Getting years and years out of your Window Air Cond.Unit.

The filter in the front if your unit is the life of the unit. You should check no less than once a week.Clean it under low warm running water w/soft towel. Then w/soft dry towel wipe dry gently- so not to tear the filter. If it doesn't look dirty,it still is a little, you can just wipe it down then,Before you put filter back(of course make sure unit is (OFF)Then do this: You can use a multi~surface cleaner like 409,spray a clean towel sprayed w/cleaner until it is very damp, then you're going to clean the coils Carefully;Slowly & gently follow the pattern of the coils(aluminum panel in the front same size as your filter)There should be some black on your towel & a noticeable difference in the shine of the coil panel.Once you're done w/entire panel, rinse towel clean while still damp.respray w/cleaner then to the left & one to the right you'll see what looks like copper tubes. One longw/ horseshoe shaped others running sideways ontop of the big one.Get in there &wipe all of it,top, bottom sides,as far back as uou can ''EASILY"reach, then do the same on other side. Also,In the winter cover the outside of the unit from the weather. In the summer (again unit OFF) you can spray w/a water hose the outtermost section of unit, removing leaves, debris, etc.Do checkups of unit in front (inside, part you move to control which way to blow air)for mold.Use quetips to clean around area.If you do this on a regular basis not only will your window unit stay clean and look much nicer but the unit will last years after its average est.time to replace.

The passenger side carpet of my 1999 Chevy malibu was soaking wet. I ran the AC unit at full blast and a lot of water dripped into the road but the carpet stayed dry. I then sprayed it with water but...

If your ac is cooling without any problems, its not the evaporator that is under the dash. because

if it was you would loose a lot of freon and your ac would not cool so good.

on the other hand if the temperature on your engine got hot it would register on your gauges on

your dashboard, and that could be an indication of a ruptured heater core that also is under the dash.

but , you could also have other, things like a ruptured radiator hose, water pump, blown head gasket.

I hope this helps you. good luck!

I have used my Steam Vac for carpeting, but until today, had never tried cleaning upholstery with the spin-scrub brush. I spent a miserable afternoon trying to control the spray, which seemed to go...

I can sympathize. My vac came with two handheld attachments. I have better luck with the handheld attachment that doesn't have the spin-scrub pads. To keep the water from going all over the place, you need to keep the part the you hold only about 1 inch from the surface of the upholstery; if you hold it higher it gets everywhere; if you hold it lower the spray doesn't spread out wide enough and it just makes big water droplets that roll down the upholstry.

If the vac isn't sucking up the water, it is likely you have it set up wrong. Take off the attachment; if you put your hand over the open end of the tube, do you feel suction? When you are using the handheld attachments there is a rectangular piece you remove (attached to the dirty water tank) and you stick the rectangular part from the hose in there. If you are getting suction but it's just not sucking up any water try these 1) maybe you aren't laying down enough water, spray it more heavily OR 2) you need to **** up the water right after you lay it down. Don't let it soak in for more than a few seconds.

good luck!

I have a bissel pro heat carpet cleaner that doesn't spray cleaner solution, everything else works, but I don't know whether it's the pump or the heat unit.I'm assuming that the pump unit must be bad since...

If you still have spray through the attachments then its the heating element. If not and your sure the belts are good ( if there intact but are a year or more old they need to be replaced ) then its probably the pump

No suction to retrieve water from carpet

The tank lid of your recovery tank is designed to engage two tabs to lock the front of the lid down on the seals. Look at the front corners of your recovery tank. You will see a tab extending out on each corner. These two tabs insert into the corresponding grooves in the lid. Once engaged, the lid folds down and the clip on the lid snaps into the back of the tank. When installed correctly, if you pull up on the front of the lid, it should NOT lift away from the tank. The front of the tank has a square "duct" that is removable for when the hose is inserted for furniture, etc. Make sure that this duct is replaced back into the tank when using on the carpet.

Finding a part flyback transformer #00364085-0001

Are you saying that the TV is furniture because it isn't working or because it is such nice furnature, you want to get it fixed?
Even if you can find the flyback, a set this old has lots more in it that is overdue for failure. TV's stress their electronic parts out more comprehensively than almost anything else and I always recommend not wasting any money on one over ten years old.
But if you really want to - sells the whole main board (313918806221) for about $170
Also might check with Module Exchange at 972-298-1212
