Question about Televison & Video

3 Answers

I have an ancient 50 inch plasma TV (model 50PF9986), vintage around 2004. I use the AV1 input as the source for everything. No matter what I do with the menus to select that input the set insists on reverting to channel 1 whenever it's restarted. Sometimes when I try to change this I'm asked for a 4 digit PIN by the system, something I never had. I don't mind too much but everyone else who uses the system hates having to re-choose the input source every time one turns it on. Help.

thanks a lot for the user's manual. I never got one when I bought the TV and have recently been unable to find one. It explained a number of things I've been wanting to clarify(including the PIN issue) but unfortunately didn't solve my problem. I'll try to state it more clearly: whatever source I choose whenever I turn the system off and restart later the TV insists on going back to looking for a signal from channel 1, even though the only signal source in my configuration is AV1. Isn't there some way to tell it to start up looking at AV1 rather than channel 1?

Go to the menu, go to tuner or channel settings. Find the autoprogram option. With your device connected to Av1, select the autoprogram option and let it run completely through. It will add all available channels and store them in the tv's memory.

The 4 digit pin should be by default 0000 this should allow you to go into your configuration and make sure you save any settings changed also it may be the remote power source used to store the software mechanics and channel programming is fried thus preventing you from changing and saving setting each time it is turned off

hope this helps

Trying to connect to LG 60 inch plasma. no output

Hi.

You need to connect the Bose using the Optical Audio output from TV to Bose main unit (kind of square shaped connector), and not using the RCA inputs on TV.

The picture below is an LG back panel, the optical audio connector is at the lower side of I/O connections at the back of TV, on some model the location of connector may be different.

How do i hookup vcr to tv

The best way to hook up your VCR is to use the AV jacks (Red, White, and yellow). Plug into AV1 or Video 1 on the back of the TV. Then, plug into Red, White, and Yellow output jack on the back of the VCR. After everything is hooked up, turn your TV channel to AV1 or Video 1 to watch from the VCR.

To record, you'll have to plug your cable box or satellite box to the AV inputs ( Red, White, and Yellow) in the back of the VCR. ( The only thing is it wouldn't be in HD )

50" Vizio Plasma reads "No Signal" on all inputs?

Well, your TV is still under warranty. That's the good part.
The only thing I can recommend without voiding the warranty is leaving the TV unplugged for 30min. That way, the TV can reset itself and hopefully correct the problem.

If that doesn't solve the problem, it's time to use the VIZIO warranty.
