Question about Raypak Rp2100 Pool & Spa Heater Lonox 407k Btu Natural Gas Polymer Header Digital Rp407aenc

1 Answer

The pilot will light but the burnner won't ignite. A pool guy said to turn the theromstate control real slow to a higher tempature and then the burnner will ignite. That worked a few times but now that has failed. I have a Raypak 2100 that is 15 years old.

More likly you have a dirty filter. Or a plug in a line. Test this by jumping your pressure switch. You can also check thr roll out switch the wire that rung along the fire wall just above the burners. It will have a black cover about two inches long on it that has a switch that is cased in wax if the fire rolls out the front of the cabnet the wax melts and shuts the heater down. Check this by jumping also. I hope this helps.

Raypak gemini 53 pool and spa heater pilot iights but burnner wont ignight

The thermocouple allows the pilot to stay lit. If your burner will not light but the pilot is lit, there is a problem with either the control or the control valve. Either the signal is not being sent to the control valve to open or the signal is being sent and the valve is faulty.

Hayward spa pool heater pilot on, heat does not ignite burners

Don't really think the gas company would be checking your pool heater, they most likely just checked their gas connections. I would suspect a few things; control module, thermostat, gas valve, pressure switch. You say you get pilot light, and as long as it doesn't turn off and on, as if it is not being sensed, then I would suggest the control module is fine. If the pilot and main burner is controlled by the same valve, and your pilot light stays lit, then I would suggest the thermostat is fine. I take back the pressure switch since the pilot will ignite. I would check power to the gas valve solenoid and see if the control module is trying to open the gas valve. I would suspect low voltage, probably around 24v. If voltage is present and no gas, I would say you found the problem.

Pilot won't stay on

Burners don't have anything to do with the problem of pilot not lighting. Is the problem that flame will not 'stay' lit? Or you can't even get a flame to ignite? If former: possible bad pilot generator or bad gas valve. If latter, possible bad gas valve or no fuel to ignite.

Rinnai 300eb won't fire up maybe pilot light is too small?

how long have you left the pilot light a light, as they usually start small and over time say 3 min they get bigger, the size of the flame doesn't real matter as long as its lit, as the fumes from the fuel will ignite, if its not igniting it could be a problem with the flow meter this feed the boiler, starts off slow and builds up as the thermostat is heated. if you are smelling fumes don't use it and have it repair as a leak is dangerous for you and your family

I am a new homeowner. I have an H400IDLunit that is a pool/spa combo. The code reads "00" in the heater window and does not change when the unit controlls are pressed. I have an aqualink...

I don't know if there is a pilot light, spark ignitor or thermal ignitor. I would determine by inspection what kind it has. If you open the front cover you will find a gas valve. It can be identified by following the gas pipe that enters the side of the heater and attaches to the gas valve. If the valve has a control knob on it that has an off, on and pilot position then it is a pilot type. If this control is not on the valve then the unit includes an automatic ignitor.

To light a pilot equipped system place the knob in the pilot position, push it down, and use a flame to light the pilot. If you hear gas flowing from the pilot but it won't light then there is air in the line and it needs to be purged. Holding the pilot lighting valve down long enough will purge it but may take a long time. Periodically you can check it by trying to light it. If it lights watch it for a while before trying to turn the heater on to make sure it is fully purged. Once the pilot is stable and the thermocouple is heated the pilot valve can be released and it should stay lit. If not, try again.

Don't get down and look into the burners while you are trying to start the system because it could flame out and burn your face. If you turn on the heater again then the gas valve should come on and the burner should light. You can usually hear a loud snap when the gas valve come on. You should then hear the gas flow to the burner. If the burner doesn't light you should be able to smell the gas. If it lights exhaust will be coming out of the vents in the top of the heater.

I am sure you will have more questions so please respond with them. I hope this helps.

Pilot light gets blown out when heater ignites

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

The jet(s) nearest the pilot assembly are clogged. Back them out of the manifold and clean out the spider nest or other debris. That should clear up the problem. And get a new service guy if they didn't take care of this when they were there!

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!

Pilot is lit, but burner will not come on. I jumped TH/PP to TH then burner comes on. Pilot generator = 350mV.

More than likely the tempature control is defective, since you effectively bypassed that connection. I found a manual for your unit which shows different types of ignition. I'm not even sure if the millivolt system is covered in this manual. Here's the sight
