Some printers do it automatically, most don't however it is still possible even on those to do it manually.

Pity you didn't say which printer you were on about.

Yes, this is called duplex printing, cheaper consumer units print on one side, take the paper back in and print the other side.
more expensive professional unis print both sides at the same time.
Just google for duplex printers for models and prices

How to do borderless printing on HP laserjet 1022n?

the hp 1022 is not capable of printing edge to edge for that matter very very VERY few can. the problem is that the printer needs to be able to move the paper through the machine without distorting the printed image and this requires a LEAD EDGE usually about 3-5mm edge to edge down the long side of the paper the printer is able to get quite close to edge at 2-3mm either side but NOT EDGE to EDGE the only real way of accomplishing true edge to edge is to overprint and trim the final page to size.e.g. print on A3 and cut to A4

Prints only on one side of the paper

If you want to change the default printer setting to print on both sides of your paper do this:

While in the document that you wish to print on both sides, go to "file" at the top left side of the screen, then choose "print" and when the printer options box opens choose "preferences" next to the name of your printer and click the tab choices at the top of the screen until you see the "double sided printing" option, Click the box to enable it and the printer will explain how this option works with your printer. Some have the capability of printing both sides at once (although not many) others will print one side and then the digital read out will ask you to reinsert the page a certain way for it to print the other side.

In our office we want the printer tomsupport the paper size 15*12. We create the paper size. but it is not displayed while setting the paper size for printing. Our printer is Tally Genicom 6306

Ok, I think the problem you are having is when printing from a version of Windows, basically the problem is the 6306 can only print 13.6 Inch Wide, it looks like you are trying to define a paper size 15 inches wide.
As the paper size defined is wider than the capability of the printer, you do not see this paper size within Windows.

The solution to the problem may be much easier than you might imagine as it is very unlikely you actually want to print 15 inches wide, you more than likely want a paper width of less than 13 inches but are including the sprocket holes and margins at the side of the paper.

Simply define a paper size the width of the printable area of the paper, so long as this is less than 13.6 inches you will then be able to select this within Windows.

Problems with duplex printing

So you're saying it will only pull paper from tray 1? This is likely because there is some setting that makes it think the paper in the other tray is not "normal" -- either thick paper, or a different size, or recycled. Check the paper type and size settings in the printer's menu, and also check the settings in the print driver.

The other tray that you want to duplex from is capable of duplexing, right? On some printers you can only duplex from specific trays.

Printing query

If your Canon printer is capable, its called Duplex printing. You would go into the properties of your printer and if its available there then you can check it off and it will print on both sides of the paper.

How do you print on both sides of the paper on an Officejet 6500? Also, I tried to scan a picture, but it would not scan. I run the printer as wireless to a lap top? Why would it not scan Thanks G

Unless you have a printer capable of "duplexing", you won't be able to print on both sides of the paper automatically. The only other way to do this is toi print on ONE side, then place the printed page back on the paper tray and print the SECOND page on the other side. You may need to try a few times until you get it the way you want, but it is diable this way.

You should be able to go to your printer, right click and select Properties, select Preferences, make sure the computer knows that the printer has 2>2 (duplexing) capabilities. See if you can't locate a place to select 2 to 2...

Can not print on two side of the paper

Not enough info. Not all printers are capable of printing 2 sides automatically, most are manual. You print one side, turn over the paper in the feeder and print the second side. Read your manual to see if it does 2 sided printing automatically.

How can i print the front and the back of my paper at once for lexmark x5470

When you want to print both sides of a page, when you go into the 'Print' command click on 'Properties' and another windows opens. Select 'Print Layou' and you will see a box marked 'Two-Sided' - click this box. The other option is if you want to flip from the top or turn from the side, like a book. Select which way (I use side flip) and click OK, which brings back to the start and click OK to print. Once the pages have printed you will still need to rotate the pages and place them back in the printer; there will be an instruction page printed halfway thru to show you which way to place the balance of the pages in the printer.
Might sound tuff, but once you've done it a coupla times, you won't even need to print the halfway intrsuction sheet. Good luck. Cheers.
