Question about Amana ARB190ZC Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
Make sure the air vents between the freezer and refrigerator compartments are not blocked. Cold air enters and exits the refrigerator compartment from the freezer compartment through vents near the top shelf and crisper drawer. If the vents are blocked by food items, airflow will decrease, which will cause temperature and moisture problems. Move any item that could be blocking one of the vents.
If all vents are properly open. Then get the fan checked on the compressor. If the fan is not working or slow rthen the fan needs to be replaced. Also check if frost build up on the condenser coils at the back of freezer section.yes freezer section. If the frost is build up on the freezer section coils then it will not let the refrigerator section to get cool because the defrost cycle is not working. So check the defrost thermostat/heater and defrost timer. On some newer models there is Automatic defrost control board instead of defrost timer. So the defrost assembly parts needs to be checked. If the drain line is clogged or the ventilations are getting clogged due to blocked ice cubes in them then the freezer will cool or freezer will cool bit more then required but the refrigerator will loose its cooling.
So for starting troubleshooting try the manual defrost reset procedure first:--
When the automaticdefrost system quits working frost builds up on the coils inside the freezersection and impedes airflow to the refrigerated section.
You may end up having to replace a defrost timer.
the evaporator coilsnever go bad or faulty mostly it only stops working if the over load of icefrost gets collected in between the coil and the evaporator fan dueto things the coil actually does not get required hot andthis makes freezer bit more cold and refrigerator very low cooling or may behot. also the other air ventilations gets blocked dueto evaporator coils stop working .to resolve this issuethe only best option is to empty the fridge/freezer unit and unplugthe unit from main power out let keep the door open of the unit and leave itfor 24 hours this melts all the collected ice in the coil as well as in the airventilation area. after that clean the inner area of unit with a dry cloth andthen plug in the connection and turn the unit ON keepingthe temperature at normal settings. then check out after two hours ifthe unit works proper the evaporator coil was the fault and that gotcleared from the unit by defrosting .but if the problem is same as before after two hours when youcheck then its faulty defrost assembly unit.
It has to be checked and replaced.
