The beeping sound is the post system searching for your hard drive and other connected devices
try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
good luck

How can you check power to computer

Does your monitor light up, if so, swap the lead into the tower and if it still won't turn on then you know it's not the lead.
It could be the power supply, you could try swapping for a known working unit to check.
If still won't start, then unplug everything from the motherboard (except the power supply) and turn on. It should start making lots of beeping noises. If it does, replace each plug in turn till it doesn't then you know what to replace. If it doesn't, it's probably the motherboard that's faulty.

Hp pavilion a1220n comptur will not start unplugged unit and when i plugged to back in it would not start

Do you see anything on the monitor screen? Does the tower make any beeping noise or clicking noise, or does the fan tries to start up when you power the computer on? Are the cables connected properly?
If you see anything on the monitor screen, or if you hear a beeping sound, let us know so we can diagnose further.

Monitors will not turn on due to a power spike. Tower makes a beeping noise with a red blinking light. What could be the problem?

The moitors did not turn on at all after the power spike?
If that is the case, probably some electronic components were burned due to power surge damage.
I advise you to contact the manufacturer for repair and your local electricity supplier.
The beeping noise and the red blinking could be indication that no monitor is plugged in.

When I turn the computer on it goes into digital power save and windows does not load

The monitor is going into power-save mode because it's not receiving a video signal from your computer. Are you turning on the computer at the monitor or on the tower? If you're turning the tower on are you hearing any noise (i.e. fans running, beeps, drives spinning, etc.)? Does the power light on the tower come on and stay on? If not you may have a bad power supply or other hardware issue.

Thank you for using FixYa

I would try shutting down the computer in the normal way, and turning off the monitor.
Boot up and turn the monitor back on.
If it still doesn't work, then I would check the cables and power plugs and wall plugs.
Check the mouse and keyboard cable and any other cables plugged into the computer.
The next step requires a seperate monitor or laptop.
Try unplugging the monitor and pluging in another monitor. Most laptops have a common
VGA adaptor jack or even an Svideo jack.
If the other monitor does not work, Then take to a qualified technician for repair.
It could be your power supply in the computer or video controller.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

Hello

That beep could mean alot of things, but probably a VIDEO CARD or RAM has become unseated.

If you feel comfortable with this, UNPLUG THE COMPUTER take off the case, remove and reinsert the ram chips, and the cards. You might need a screwdriver or two, and a LIGHT. The ram tabs are small.

Good Luck

I have a HP Pavilion 700 Desktop and I started a full scan with Norton and the computer was on for aday and ahalf so I turned it off and now the tower is making a beeping noise and the monitor is blank....

If it is making this noise when it is powering on and fails to get to the BIOS screen where all the white text flies up-- the PC suffered a hardware issue.

Power it off and leave it powered off for eight hours. Power it back on. If it powers on without the beeps, it was a heat related issue and will eventually crash again until that is addressed.

Tower Beeping

As I can see the problem is not monitor but your PC if computer chasis beeping, depends on number of beeps the problem can be VGA card one long beep and 3 short or RAM if it beeping one by one short beep and finaly CPU if it continuosly beeps like police sirene. If beeps are pointing to VGA or RAM you must open computer chasis and plug out VGA and RAM and clean dust out of slots and of VGA card and RAM as well with painbrush and vacum cleaner and plug them back.
Good luck!
