Question about Trendware TRENDnet TU2 ET100 network Adapter

1 Answer

My home network was working fine for a long time. Here's the config: cable modem > main PC > Tu2-ET100 > xover cable > TU2-ET100 > second PC. I can connect PC to PC fine, Internet on main PC is fine, but I have an exclamation point and status is "Limited or no connectivity" on the second PC. TCP/IP on both machines is set to obtain an IP address automatically and to obtain a DNS server automatically. I downloaded and installed the newest driver today but no help, same thing.

Thanks, but this isn't a hardware issue. Both adapters, the xover cable, my internet connectivity and both PCs are already proven to be working properly, as I performed all hardware troubleshooting before posting my question. These adapters are for USB networking, they are not LAN cards. The resident LAN port on my main PC is in use for the cable modem, expansion slots are in use so I went with a USB LAN to interconnect the machines. Ipconfig shows the 2nd pc keeps getting a bogus IP assigned, 146.xxx.xxx.xxx or something like that. I'm completely redoing the Win XP ICS setup today, will post again if that doesn't fix it.

If one computer is working and the second one hooked on it not than it may be a cable thing ..if both are not working than it is a network and you have to call the provider...to check that plug them one by one directly to the main cable ..cause there is a possibility the the main ones LAN card to failed ..and cause both are basically connected trough it they can not work ..
Usually most computers have a on board LAN port ...if it is a suspicion that the LAN card failed try to use the one on board ..

just try to set the second computer's Ip manually and to be in range of cover set it like I show here ..
let the dns servers on automatically ..and will pick up the ones from the other ...
but even if it is on obtain an Ip address automatically ..click on advanced or like it is there ..user defined...and for the IP address set the one like the other computer ..but for the last value ..add on more digit..for ex..if teh first one Ip is : 10.10.10.1 the other ones that is connected to it will be 10.10.10.2
and the whole config will look something like ..
    IP address 10.10.10.2
    sub-net mask 255.255.255.0
default gateway : 10.10.10.1 (see it is the IP of the other one ..cause it plays the role of gateway ..like a router ..)
and the servers leave them on automatic..and try it ..this way you will be sure that the IP is in range ..
if not..reinstall like you said ..or make a system restore to teh point when you know for sure that it worked..and even if it a cause of an Updated driver that do not fits in anymore..it will roll it back ..settings and all..

Trendnet tu2-400 not working

All hubs do is regenerate a signal out all ports at half duplex. I'd recommend getting a switch. Also hubs to computers technically need straight through cables to work correctly.

Hi,
Problem seems with main tuner in this tv as other AV inputs working fine so please replace main tuner (TU2) to solve this issue.
There are two tuners mounted on A board TU1 and TU2, please replace TU2 and part number would be written on tuner itself.
TV is approx 10 years old so I would recommend that do not spend lots of money on it.
Thanks.

The issue is that the hardware driver for the USB is causing your system to crash. Try finding an update from Trendware- however your best bet is if you have a desktop, purchase a network card that goes internal, and if laptop- use an express card. USB network adapters historically have been *VERY* unstable- and the issues with your system definitely point at the driver for the adapter.

Keep losing the Signal

This is a fairly simple thing to trouble shoot. If you are losing your wireless signal where your OS tells you that you have been disconnected from the wireless network then there is an issue with your wireless router. If your cable modem drops the data link to your ISP your wireless network will still work 100% fine, however websites will not load, but the router admin page should.

The end all be all way to prove it is not your wireless router is to simply use a network cable for a few days and see if you get the same issues. If it does turn out to be your wireless router there could be an issue with interference and I would recommend trying a different wireless channel.

Hardware problem

Connect the adapter on your computer then check the status of the device under the device manager. It should appear under Network adapters or USB Devices. double clikt its icon and look the device status. if you have the drivers installed successfully and you have tried it on different USB port, youmay try installing on another computer to further isolate the problem. If problem persist after installing it on another computer then it only means that there is something wrong with the device.

Router not recognizing internet connection from cable modem.

No, you do not need a Hub. You also should not need to add the mac address. On the router, you need to enable DHCP so that your PC can get its IP address from your router. Then try your reboot again. Modem------------->Router----------------->PC. Wait about 1 minute between each device for them to sync up. Make sure that your PC IP settings are set on obtain IP address automatically under Control Panel----->Network Settings

Main screen showing "no signal"

KP-43HT20 has 2 tuners, one is main (TU2) and 2nd is called sub tuner (TU1). Both tuners are mounted on A board located on right side of TV.
In my opinion, main tuner (TU2) is not working and causing No Signal message.
Let me know if you want to repair tv by yourself.to provide you more technical info.
