When you bought the radio there should be 2 metal hook looking things inside of the box.
Take the faceplate off the radio
Remove the black trim ring by gently prying with flathead screwdriver to remove.
Stick in the two metal bars on the left and right side and slide in until it clicks.
Pull towards you gently and the whole radio should begin to slid towards you.
You can grasp the radio and pull as soon as you have enough to grip it.

Then see if you have 12 volts when the key is turned forward on the RED and YELLOW wire either with a test light or a meter.

If you have 12 on one, but not the other then you need to refer to car owners manual for the radio fuse.

Or get back with me with the year make and model of car and I can help you with fuse finding.

Possible that the outputt is short and the audio power output IC is defective . Disconnect the speakerrs to check out one again.
If fault stays then disconnecct the powerr supply to the output IC.
If the protect display changes, then the IC is short for sure.

Cut the main power to the output circuits and if the short corrects, then check for short.

Subwoofer wont play

For a sub to play it needs wiring from sub to amp and the amp needs power from battery and amp needs signal from radio and amp needs to be grounded oh and it needs a remote signal from the radio as well and if your radio is stock and has no RCA outputs you need a LOC which will connect to you speakers with wire and to your amp with RCAs

I've been trying to figure out how to adjust my sound because ever since I got the KDC MP642U my bass has been nearly non existant. I looked in the manual and it says to go to the sound category to adjust,...

You've probably figured this out by now, but you are supposed to go through the FNC button, click the control knob left, scroll down to SOUND, click and it will show you a menu with Control, Setup, and Preset, etc., and under the Control will list the EQ, bass boost, and highway sound. Under Setup you can adjust the frequency sensitivity under the X-Over option, the type of cabin, location of speakers for central sound, it's all there. Also, on the main display, if you hold the volume knob down for a second, you can adjust the dB level. If still nothing, check if the sub is on. On the main display, hold down on the control knob for two seconds, if will toggle the sub on or off. One thing I'm stumped by however is that I am either getting no subwoofer output, or just any amplifier output at all when trying to use the aux source and the USB source. I had gone through all these settings under each source, i still got nothing. I would assume that this can't not be an option for these sources. I need help.
