Disconnect the AC power and remove the battery. Use compressed air to clean the contacts where the battery is connected and reinsert. If the battery still does not charge, it could be faulty and need to be replaced.

If a friend has the same computer, swap batteries and see if another battery works.

Hope this helps.

You could find your battery on eBay, etc. But, your best chance to find is at the Acer website.

I am sure its totally fault of your OS. Becouse some when ac working well, some where battery. your OS does not recognised your power control properly. Try to use single OS and get batter result. if done thumbs me.

    Toshiba Tecra M2 Series

Was the laptop on when it turned off? It may be a PSU problem but we can determine this by removing the battery. Make sure you disconnect the AC adapter while your removing the battery. Inspect the contacts and make sure`there are no black marks or any other dirt. Leave the battery out and plug in your AC adapter. Try the power again.
There are a couple of possibilities in terms of problems that I can suspect so far. Did anything out of the ordinary happen when the computer just stopped working all of the sudden.
    1. Battery has failed and short circuited the contacts 2. Power supply failure 3. Motherboard could have failed in style. 4. Power contacts for the AC adapter are damaged.

Laptop was working fine, but doesn't turn on anymore...

a5e3d98.jpg You might have a Loose DC Power Jack.. Or.. if you're using the same AC Power cord for both laptops that you tested, you apparently have a break(short) in the Power charging cord which is quite common...

To Test the cord..take the battery out and try to boot with just the AC power cord plugged in, If it does'nt power up, try turning and slightly twisting the plug into the port.. LOOK to see if the power light is on or flickers...
