Is there anything jammed between the blade and the body/guard of the saw?

SOURCE: craftsman 7.5in. circular saw model #31511880.

I tried myself to locate the manual with google, but unfortunately had no success. You could ask some specialized manual search engines, like here or here. The services are not for free, but most times worthy - saved my live more than once.

I have dewalt 18 v circular saw i cut vinyl lattice once and used it on a 2x4 but it wouldnt cut it, started to cut then just stopped. is blade dull already? new saw.

a couple things to look at. Did the saw stop operating or was the blade not wanting to cut. Remove the battery and CAREFULLY feel the blade for dull or broken segments. If the blalde stopped check to make sure not a loose bolt holding it on. Did you reverse the blade for cutting the vinyl. Let me know more information and I will try and help

Circular saw won't turn off

you have a switch problem that needs to be fixed ASAP, you can go to either makitausa.com and type in your model number or to ereplacementparts.com for a replacement switch. If you have a local repair center they usually have them also. MAKE note of the wiring before removing the switch. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Ryobi 7-1/4 in. laser circular saw will not turn on when it is plugged in.

Same problem with mine but I.found a guy's blog on google and he had identical problem and found the "pre travel switch," that they saw fit to put in the saw was the culprit. It's not a typical switch and has issues making contact often times (Ryobi are you listening?) He was able to take it apart and make a adj/repair (instructions he provides on blog) but who knows how long it will last? First time using, plugged in, power light/laser works. Saw will not turn when pressing trigger.

I dont know how old the tool is but when I worked on them it was notorious for exploding the commutator and damaging the brush holders, hopefully yours didn't do that. You have voltage at both brush holder then I would remove the brushes (UNPLUG TOOL FIRST) making sure they are not sticking in the tubes and while they are out rotate the tool by hand and look for any noticable difference in the commutator bars. Check all the connections from the field to make sure the circuit is complete like it sounds that you have done and if so that just leaves the two items I mentioned. Let me know if I can help further.
