SOURCE: insignia 4gb / video mp3 player

You'll need to erase the internal and external memory, then re-add all your files.

You can use Windows Explorer to transfer files to your insignia sport player. First, in the settings on your player, go to Settings, USB Mode, Connection Type and select File & Folder. Then, plug your player in to your USB cable. Windows XP should automatically find your player and make a new drive letter in Windows Explorer. Simply drag and drop your files from your c drive to the new drive for your player. You'll notice that when you delete the files on your new drive for your player that it doesnt remove them from your player. You'll need to use your player (settings, system, erase internal) to erase internal (and external), but after that when you add new files, they will be added to the player when it does the profiling after you disconnect the USB cable. SOURCE: MP3 Player not recognizing Real Player Video Files

That Opal's Easy Rip Software does not recognize Real Video format naturally. You may have to download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder to convert the Real Video files to AVI format. Once they are in AVI format, the Easy Rip software will recognize the file and convert them to your player. If you have lost your installation CD, you can get the Easy Rip software from:

Unlike an Ipod, you will need to install the RCA SMV Video Converter software which helps you convert your videos into a supported format for use with your RCA player Click HERE for converter. Do not install the RCA video converter because it is not for your model. After you download the converter, install it and re-boot your computer. Import your video file into the converter, let it transcode the video into the proper format and then upload to your MP3 player. If you have any further issues with your player click HERE for the manual. I hope this helps and good luck!

Can't upload video to my player

And you'll never be able to do that , because your device is called mp3 player . Mp3 formatted files are audio file types and that what your device is capable to run . Video files for a mini device like yours or cell phone devices are formatted in Mp4 formats , so if you want to enjoy watching videos on a small screen , you need to buy another device called Mp4 player . But don't forget to convert all videos to Mp4 format before you upload them to such a device .
good luck .

Bought the RCA m4304-a for son for Christmas when we try to install software we get errors on each item it tries to download

Try using Windows Media Player to upload your music. I'm not a fan of the software that came with it. I received mine as a Christmas gift a few days ago and I found it is so much easier to upload music through Windows Media Player than to use their software. Plus, it is a lot easier to upload audio books as well. Make sure you have the most up to date version of Windows Media Player for your operating system. I run Windows XP, so mine was Windows Media Player 10.

I haven't tried to upload video or pictures yet though. Hope this helps!

I don't know how to upload music into my M4304 RCA MP3

There should have been a file on the player that you can access through Windows Explorer (My Computer, click on the dirve that is your player) that should be named: RCAeasyRip_setup.exe

If you do not have this file, it can be downloaded from the RCA site here:
http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2253

Run this file to install the RCA easyRip softwar that allows you to transfer all media. You HAVE to use this application to transfer videos because it does the conversion to a compatible format (if Windows Media Player can play it, easyRip should be able to convert it). Any questions you have about using easyRip can be accessed by the module on the dock that has a '?' on the icon for it (Look up the Player Loader module for how to transfer).

Other media you can just drag and drop to the device if you don't care about video (again, just find the drive letter that is your player in My Computer and just drag and drop music and photos onto that drive)

Lastly, you can use Windows Media Player to sync any music and photo files.

How do i put videos on my opal mp3

Log onto the RCA website and download the RCA SMV Video Converter. The Opal only plays videos that are in one specific format. This converter will put your videos into that exact format (see Resources below).
  • Install the RCA SMV Video Converter once you have downloaded the software.
  • Open the RCA SMV Video Converter software to begin putting videos onto your RCA Opal.
  • Connect the RCA Opal to your computer using the USB chord that came with the device.
  • Wait until the RCA SMV Video Converter software reads that the device has been connected. You will know this when the bottom of the software screen reads “Player Detected: Opal 1GB 2GB.”
  • Select the “Browse” option to find any videos that are on your computer which you wish to add to the RCA Opal.
  • Click the box next to “Transfer output files to OPAL 1GB 2GB after conversion is complete” after you have selected all of the videos which you wish to convert. This will automatically add the videos to your RCA Opal after they have been converted.
  • Click the “Convert” box after you have selected all of the videos. The videos will automatically begin to convert to the correct format. Once they have been converted, your videos will automatically upload to your RCA Opal.

My rca opal 4gb will not add more than 39 songs

    hi teddy,

first try to format your player, if it has an option to do that. secondly ensure that the bit rates of the music files are in following ranges: mp3: 32-320kbps & WMA: 48-192kbps. and if u have uploaded pictures (.jpg) files into it then ensure hat they are not very high in number bcoz it can support upto 2000 items only including music and video and picture files.

try these.. hope they will help..
