Alright, so if you answer a few questions for me I would be happy to help you out.

If you are on cable, antenna, dish, etc. does this still happen?

If you try the dvd player on a different tv, does that tv experience the same problem?

If you try a different DVD does this one still have the same problem?

If you try a different cable from the player to the tv, does it still have this problem?

Besides the color, is the picture still good and the audio?

Please get back to me on all of these questions so we can narrow down the exact problem, thanks.

ok, now it makes sense. What is probably happening is that there is a looser connection for the power going to that corner. It is an internal hardware problem and requires you to physically open it and check the board and wires and make sure they are firmly connected. It may also have been caused by pressure to that corner.

This seems to be a problem more with the TV than the DVD player. One way to determine this, is to try it on a different TV and using a different disc. If the problem still occurs, then it could indicate a problem with either the DVD or the connecting cable. Use a different cable to find out if the problem is with the cable. If not, then you will have to get the DVD player serviced.
If the problem does not occur in the other TV, then the fault could lie with the original TV. In this case, you will have to call in a repairman to get your TV fixed.

Hope that helps!

Ok, so this is a portable player. Please try to give as much information as possible when you describe the issue. Now that we know it a portable player, it changes the scenario..

There seems to be a problem with the internal circuitry or the connector from the logic board to the screen. It could also be a case of a loose connector or poor soldering inside. There is no other option but to get it serviced, as I wouldn't recommend opening up the player if you have no prior experience in this sort of thing..

Regarding replacing backlights, some newer LCD panels have an integrated backlight- you can't replace just the light, you must replace the entire screen. I would assume this applies more to laptops as I repaired a Sony Vaio that lost its light. You could make out the Windows boot screen (if tilted at angle). On opening, I discovered this. And I found an inexpensive source for the panel: http://www.screentekltd.com

Try another source, if the same problem appears there then your tv is in need of repairs, contact a local service center or tech.

The video 1 and video 2 display flashing simultaneously back and forth...cant play dvd cause it continually switches back and forth

Try a different resolution setting.
You can also try playing the dvd into another device to confirm dvd works fine.
Check output\mode of device as well.
I assume, you inserted another dvd and it worked fine, then you inserted the "questioned" dvd is it flashes back and forth.
Try another video mode or setting change on device.

Try a DVD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if this fails! the problem is the laser pickup assembly, only option replace the assembly or purchase a new player, "far cheaper"

The preview colors do not match the actual print.

This is usually a cartridge issue. If that doesn't work, then try cleaning the printer head. Make sure that there is paper in the input tray. On the product control panel display, touch the tools icon. Touch Tools and then touch Clean Printhead . The product calibrates, cleans, and aligns the printhead and then prints a test page. If this doesn't work, please visit this site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_rule=33721&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3315742&lang=en

Will only play in black and white. worked in color last night

You can try cleaning the laser disc head with a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol. Apply a small amount of alcohol on the tip of a cotton swab and rub it back and forth gently across the laser head unitl it looks bright and shines. Use the dry side of the swab to remove any excessive moisture from the head. Check the laser transport and make sure its action is smooth and easy. Clean it with a cotton swab and a small amount of alcohol.Use a can of compressed air to blow clear any dust and debris in the laser disc compartment. Now try to play your disc and see if it operates normally. If not you can call Zenith customer service at this telephone number 1-800-243-0000 give them the model number of your dvd player and the problem you are having with loss of color. They will be able to tell you how to get service for the problem. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

My DVD player is, quite literally, on the blink...

Hi Your problem is Copy protection on your DVD's! Without going into techno-bable, your DVD player detects that you are connected to a VCR, (You have no choice in your case as it is built-in), there are methods such as "Copyguard" and "Macrovision" that try to stop you from copying your favorite DVD onto VHS. The audio is left alone, but the video will go bright and dim, and the colors will be messed up, making the result un-watchable. You will find that the cheap DVD's you get for a couple of bucks at the discount store will play fine, as it would be too expensive to protect them. There are "little black boxes" available as "video stabilizers" that will cure this problem, (but you didn't hear that from me!),otherwise you must connect into a t.v. without a built-in VCR. P.S. Make sure the t.v. you switch to has RCA type A/V inputs on it, as you will have to purchase a separate RF modulator otherwise. Good Luck!
