Question about Speed Queen AGS28AWF Gas Dryer

Speed Queen gas dryer model #AGM499W. Replaced the igniter but did not fix the problem. Dryer will not heat.

Burner may need to be vacuum out or blown out, also could be the thermo coupler. Hope this helps tim

My speed queen model AGM499W does not dry clothes cycles off and on after 10mins


Here is what I did. I went to the breaker box and reset the breaker for the dryer. Sometimes it will only pop 1/2 of the breaker, due to being too hot.

If does vary by model of SpeedQueen dryer,but typically the heat element fit in the bottom or the rear plate the supports the drum..reply with model number and i will tell you where yours goes.

Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly. if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip.... My speed queen gas dryer comes on but will no longer heat. The igniter is fine.....passes the Ohm test. What might be the solution? And what are the est. part costs....this is an old speed...

The most common problem with a gas and no heat is the ignitor going bad...

I have a Speed Queen gas dryer AGM499W. It won't dry. The gas ignighter comes on but gas does not light.


There is a light sensor near the igniter. Clean off the dust on it's glass face. Don't bump the igniter, it's delicate.
