SOURCE: Error code 20

Knexsen's solution worked for me, but being lazy I took a shortcut. Instead of completely disconnecting everything from the black rubber assembly that contains the filter basket, I just disconnected it from the pump. Within the main body of the assembly I was able to work the filter basket around until the top of the basket, which is open, was visible through the opening that leads to the pump. With a pair of needlenose I was able to remove the object blocking the filter, which in my case was a sock (and to think, all these years we've been blaming dryers!).

Speaking of dryers, mine is stacked on top of my washer, but I was able to safely tip the whole works forward (good suggestion, that) with the use of brace between the dryer and the nearest wall.

SOURCE: not draining all the way. slow spin

I had the same problem.  There was a sock stuck in my drain hose!  To correct it, I did the following:

  1. I removed as much of the standing water from inside the drum as possible (a siphon is handy here, otherwise you're just slinging buckets).
  2. Then, I removed the front panel.  On my unit, there were two screws holding it on towards the bottom.  I removed the screws and the panel slid straight down and I could pull it away from the unit.
  3. Then, I located the drain hose leading from the drum.  I put some towels around it to catch some of the leftover drum water.  It was a lot of water and a catch bucket would have been a good idea, too.
  4. I removed the drain hose from the drum by squeezing the clamp ends and sliding it down the hose a bit.  Then I could easily slide the hose from the drum.  Splash!  Water came rushing out.  So, at his point I knew the clog happened after the drum.
  5. I then removed the other end of the hose from the electric unit (I don't even know what it is).  Voila!  A sock!  I pulled the sock out and replaced the hose.
  6. I ran a rinse cycle to find there was still something else besides the sock stuck, so I suggest you check the area thoroughly while you have it apart.

Hope that helps you!  I feel good I spared myself a visit from the plumber.

E20 error message

replace the control panel or have it repaired, there is no e20 listed as a trouble code,so it needs to be replaced.

To clear latest stored error code:

Place the control into Diagnostic test Mode.
  • Turn the program knob clockwise 9 clicks from the Start Position. The control will signal the last error code.
  • Press and hold the Options and Pause Cancel buttons for 3 seconds. The code will be cleared.
  • Exit Diagnostic Mode to return the washer to normal operation.

E20 Error Code

Greetings jeanne1568,

Other consumers have reported this error message and found it relates to your "Coin trap assembly" being blocked, therefore not allowing all the water to pump out. The suggestion out there is to remove the front access panel, and remove the clamp that connects this trap assembly to the pump and clean it out.

I hope this helps.

I suggest you snake out the drain into which the machine waste hose goes, the standpipe that is. The drain could be blocked somewhere causing pressure problems which is conveyed to the machine. Be sure to replace the machine exit hose at about 3 feet from ground level, and dont shove it too much into the standpipe. Do not block up the point where the machine hose goes into the standpipe, it shouldn't be air tight.
