Aquiring Sat. Signal

Have GPSMap 188C
GPS turns on and seems to get a signal...has time, date, depth but on top is says it is aquiring sat. and than I get a pop up that says it did not find a signal. On bottom left of screen there is a yellow symbol with GPS with a line through it. Is this saying it is off or maybe the antenna is broken. Thank you in advance for anyhelp
