Question about Vizio Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have 55" Vizio lcd tv (E550VL). The "WIDE" menu gives me the option to change to screen to WIDE, FULL, ZOOM or STRETCH. When I click one of these, nothing happens. Is there something else I should be doing?

Hi,
Picture aspect ratio wont work on HD channels/ signal as HD signal over rides on these settings and has own unique picture aspect ration.
Try with dvd playback picture, you would be able to adjust screen aspect ratio to Wide, Full, Zoom etc.
Thanks.

Not all TV programs are broadcast in 1080. When you use zoom or stretch on a program in 720 or 480 and a 1080 program is viewed you have to go back and take off zoom and stretch to get a correct picture.

I am having the same issue with our Vizio E550VL TV. Does your TV show No Signal on the screen? I was able to get regular AV to work with the Yellow, Red, and White cable to work but none of the HDMI ports would not work. If it does not power on at all it may be the power supply. I had to order the main board to get it to work correctly. Vizparts.com is where you can order it from.

Hi, Look in TV menu for settings of screen. ( aspect setting) 4:3 , wide screen mode , Normal (full), Zoom mode. You want Normal (full) mode. Good luck.

Picture not filling screen on vizio 37" tv

Hi my name is Eric,
I hope I can help you with your issue ,
There are a few buttons to adjust the picture size on different make TVs and even on the Cable/Satellite remotes .
1.Format
2.Aspect
3.Size
4.Zoom
5.Wide
6.#
First look on the TV remote, set it to Full ,Fill or Just.
Then on the Box remote stretch is usually best.
On the box remote set the output resolution to 1080i only
And use 16x9 when if offers a choice.
Cable remotes use the # key as a zoom button.
Due to the fact there are 16 size/Formats available (3 or 4 being transmitted now). you may have to hit the zoom/stretch button on some HD channels.
But with these settings the picture will mostly stay full and help you avoid image burn from the edges being not on the edge.

Hope this helps, if it has solved your issue please click accept
But if you have more questions please respond and I will reply asap
Thanks
Eric

Picture doesn't fit screen

If you haven't tried to change the format yet, try that first. Most of these tv's have a wide range of options from full to wide to split etc. Stretch would probably work in most hd formats.

Cant see full picture w/ Vizio 32in HDTV

You would look for a format button on your remote.
Dish Network: bottom left the asterisk "*" button
DirecTV: top left, second from the top labelled "format"
Cable remote: look for format, zoom, or aspect ratio

Pressing this button should scroll you through the options.
