If you've backed up your iphone but i doubt you have because it shouldn't have deleted your stuff if you had backed it up on itunes. it takes along time but you should do it. I think you accidently pressed no for the backing up part

Just upgraded iPad 3 to iOS 8.1.1. Now everything freezes up. iPad won't even turn off at all. Is there anyway to reverse an update?

My iPhone upgraded fine. Try a hard reboot - hold power and home together until it goes off, keep holding until you see Apple logo then release and let it finish booting. If that doesn't work, may need to force a reinstall of the update via iTunes.

What are ways for iphone data recovery

You must have a backup in the pc if you choose to use itunes. Check that. This has to be restored on the original or a newer iphone.

Corrupted software

It isn't often that Apple gives specific directions about how to fix your problem! Restoring the iPhone 4 will erase everything on it, so make sure everything on the iPhone 4 is stored elsewhere prior to restoring. To restore, connect your iPhone 4 to a computer with iTunes installed. Click "Restore" on the iPhone 4 summary page (click on your iPhone icon on the left menu to find this page). Follow the directions to restore. If your iPhone 4 displays the text "Please wait. Very Low Battery," leave it plugged in. This charges the iPhone 4 enough to be able to restore. If the iPhone 4 hangs on this screen for long periods of time, you may need a new battery.

Force restore mode

If your iPhone 4 is hanging with an Apple logo, or exhibiting some other software problem that prevents iTunes from recognizing it, you can force it into recovery/restore mode and then use iTunes to restore the software.
If the device is powered off, plug one end of your USB cable into the iPhone 4 and leave the other end disconnected. Press down on the Home button, and keep holding it down while you plug the USB cable into your computer. After 5-10 seconds, you should see a "Please Connect to iTunes" image on the iPhone 4, and iTunes should prompt you to restore the software; follow the prompts and the instructions given above.
If the device is powered on, hold down both the power and home buttons until the device reboots and displays the "Connect to iTunes" image (generally, 5-15 seconds).
God bless you

Boot into recovery mode from GRUB menu, at the prompt, change user password again to something easy to remember.

passwd user
Then, change the ownership/permission of /home/user/.dmrc to you won't get that error/ignore message the next time you log in.

chown user:user /home/user/.dmrc
chmod 644 /home/user/.dmrc
Now reboot.

shutdown -r now

I downloaded updates on my iPhone 3G, did a reset as required after downloading updates and now my iPhone wont charge, I press the on button top right even hold it for 10sec with and without home button...

Held the home button and power button for 10sec, released the power button after apple icon appeared and continued to hold the home button until the USB cable icon appeared (this action prepares the iPhone for Factory reset), now connect iPhone to iTunes and follow the prompts! Note: when you restore your iPhone everything will be deleted to Factory Settings and you will only be able to retrieve your settings to the most recent back up you have stored, any data not stored in iTunes, example: (SMS, appointments in Calender), will be lost!

I had this problem briefly. I had to restore my iphone back to factory settings, and the icons and everything came back. Now, it will also update to version 1.1.4.
