Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

The whole lens housing will need to be replaced in order to fix the camera, the damage to the lens is to great, cost should be taken into account when replacement is considered.

When I zoom in my camera shuts off

Mine was doing the same thing and after chatting with Kodak Tech Support to no avail I wiped the lens barrel (the rings that slide in and out) with a paper towel dampened with a little alcohol and it started working again. There's a sensor that shuts down the camera if the lens can't move freely and apparently a film can build up on the rings that causes just enough friction to make it turn off. I then wiped it with a tiny bit of WD40 on the towel and it's working perfectly. Be very careful if you try this to not get anything on the glass lens itself, and don't use enough to soak the towel, just barely dampen it.

Camera lens won't come out and it beeps three times.

hi...
The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage.

Kodak Easy Share Z1275 stuck lens

I have a Kodak 1275. Green light would go on the off and lens was stuck open. Now for solution that worked for me. Get a can of compressed air, like what you use for computer keyboards. Blow the compressed air all around your stuck open lens, not to fast and switch directions of where you blow air around stuck opened lens. Make sure batteries are fresh and fully charged. Tap your camera against the palm of your hand twice, not to hard or you may damage instead of jarring lens lose. Next lay your camera on a table lens facing up, push power button on so camera will try to auto focus and lens should reseat itself and lens should move freely. It doesn`t have to look dirty or dusty, little tiny particles can cause the lens to get stuck and shut off fast because it is a safety feature. If this does not work try plugging your camera into computer so the lcd screen does not try to go on , thus giving even more power to get your lens moving . Do not try to force it closed by pushing or twisting with your hand or you may cause damage that will cost as much as the camera to fix.

The lens is jammed.
This is a result of damage to the gear in the motor asssembly.
The gear teeth have been broken off & as a result the gears that drive the opening& closing of the barrel dont mesh together resulting in the jam and your 4 beeps!!

Too much fun... sand in the camera!

Best advise i can give you is to get an air canister at your local walmart or whatever store. use the tube and get in the little cracks with it, try to move the lens in or out a LITTLE while you spray so it loosens the sand enough for the spray to move it out.
