My pen has suddenly stopped working. The tablet is "on", I see the movements on the screen, but there is no action. My traditional mouse must take over,...that's no solution. What can ~I do? Does the pen itself has a battery? WACOM intuos, model , PTZ-630 thank you, hettie staats

SOURCE: My Wacom Intuos3 tablet won't switch into pen mode

I had the same problem with my Intuos3 on Vista. Tech support suggested the following.

Do this.....Go to Start--->control panel---->system(in classic view)---->device manager--->click on "human interface devices"--->then click on "Wacom virtual HID driver" and right click on that and disable it. Your computer will ask you to restart and you will want to do that.

Everything works fine now.

SOURCE: New Wacom Intuos 6x8 Graphics Tablet with a Serial connection (using a USB converter) work with Vista?

Searched for ages to find a driver for my giant wacom (UD-1212-R) on Vista 64. As of this moment there isn't one, and it looks like they are not even going to bother. But if there are any geniuses out there........

SOURCE: My Wacom Intuos3 tablet won't switch into pen mode

The winning answer came courtesy of Mr Benedikt Schmitt of Wacom Europe, who offered the following solution: from the Windows Device Manager, disable the “Wacom Virtual Hid Driver” device. (Go to Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Device Manager, find the driver, right-click it and choose “Disable”.) One reboot later (welcome to Windows-land, circa 2008?), everything works as desired. Pressure and tilt sensitivity inside Photoshop still work, and the pen functions just fine in the rest of the Windows desktop. The absolute mapping makes it an absolute pleasure to point quickly and precisely. It makes my laser mouse feel rather clumsy navigating a large 24′ screen!

SOURCE: Wacom Intuos 3 unintentional double click

I had the same problem. I went here: http://www.beeldbuijs.nl/solutions/hardware/scrollwheel_adjustment.htm, followed the directions (only 1 screw on the bottom in the back for the Intuos 3), cleaned out the dust, works fine (for now)

SOURCE: wacom intuos3 pen is not working

A few hours ago Wacom released a new driver 6.1.2-5 for the Windows 7/Vista/XP operating systems. I was having the same problem. Hopefully this will be a permanent fix!

My pen doesn't work on my tablet pc. It suddenly stopped working

Does your tablet have an LED to indicate it's being powered? If so, it must be the pen.
Does your pen have an internal battery? If so, it's time to replace it.
Good luck!

Intuos 3 Pen/Stylus suddenly stopped working (as in dead).

Will the tablet work with the mouse? If it does not, is not working is the blue LED light on. If the LED is not working try another usb port. If the mouse works go into the Wacom tablet properties from the start menu. Select the grip pen from the tools. Click on the default button to restore the stylus to factory settings. When you press the pen you should see the pressure scale rise. You can also test the eraser pressure. You could also replace the stylus tip to see if that works. From the Wacom site you can order a new stylus or tips if it is found defective.

My tablet pen occasionally stops responding.

what you need to do is go into cmd prompt and type this: /configtab (you need to type it correctly, sometimes you may need all caps or no caps, it depends your software). get the 7 digit code that appears next to "confm" and go to your tablet settings and enter it into the confirmation input. and you are set to go!

Wacom tablet won't recognize pen

Hmm. I've had a similar thing happen with my tablet. Have you tried removing the tablet pen from the list of tools in tablet preferences and then adding it to the list again before checking the 'About' section of the tablet pen set-up and clicking the 'diagnose' button there in? As that worked for me when my tablet pen was not working. The pen was recognized by the tablet after that.

Initial Delay of tablet pen

I had a similar problem with Vista which made the pen/cursor freeze just as the tip was placed on the tablet face.
The problem turned out to be a Vista setting.
I went to Start > Control Panel > Pen and Input Devices.
Then in the Pen Options tab highlight the "Press and Hold" pen action and then press the "Settings..." button. In the dialog box that opens uncheck the "Enable press and hold for right-clicking" check box. Hit "OK".
Worked for me.

Gateway tablet screen does not respond to pen.

I have a CX2620, got it in May 2006. Got my first pen replaced not long after that, actually within a month or two (wouldn't calibrate). Now the second one doesn't work at all, I can't tell if it's the pen or the tablet itself, except that the mouse will draw in the tablet spaces. I kept the old one as a spare, but neither click, draw, nada.

Screen rotates, pen doesn't

Is it maybe possible it is a hardware prob? maybe the directional sensor in the tablet was displadced.

BTW i have the same tablet and need an harddrive replacement/upgrade, how did you manage to do that? what kind of drive and where to buy? Viewsonic seems not so eager to help me out with that.

Best,

Fredrik
