I recently started to get blue ghosting around letters, figures, etc on my 54" projection TV. I also have some yellowing on the white background, especially near the bottom and left hand portion of the screen. How can I fix this, and is it worth fixing at this point??
Your set needs to have both Convergence ICs replaced they are Both STK392-010 you can get new ICs at the following link and they provide free step by step instructions with pics so you can do the job yourself which takes about 45 minutes. Heres the link.

Replace convergence IC's and locate & replace open fuse
device (probably a pico fuse soldered in underneath IC heatsink).
re-align convergence.

Akais TV is real fuzzy and has ghosting or shadowing around all the letters. Really hard to see.
I have a akai pt5499...i also have ghosting around white and blue figures on the screen what convergence ics does this set take
