If you look in Task Manager under Processes tab and if it's listed more then once if it is highlight it then END TASK. if not then restart your computer and try installing once more.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Win32 application is not valid

Hi bconejarez,
Regarding that Error you just mentioned it is either the program you are installing is not compatible with windows or the programs can be just damaged but if it something brand new then most likely it is not a windows Program or application.
You can also tr and check for issue like your Anti Virus program try disabling your Anti Virus for a while then try re installing the program again see if the error will occur again, if the error still occurs then it is the program you are installing that is the issue.
If you think that it is not the issue then you can try to back up all your personal stuff then re install windows and try installing the program on the newly installed windows see if the error will occur if it does then you will have to get a new copy of that program which is Windows Compatible, or possibly that is not damaged.
What Application/program is this that is giving you this Error not a valid win32 application?
and what windows do you run on your Machine is it XP. Vista or windows 7 also is it 32bit or 64bit?.
Thanks I hpoe this can clear thing out on you concern.
Have a nice day, Thank you for choosing Fixya.

I go to install my home and student software and it says an error has incurred while trying to install

Error message when you try to install a 2007 Office program: "Microsoft Office <Product_Name> 2007 encountered an error during setup. Error 1714"

To work around this issue, use the Add or Remove Programs feature in Control Panel to uninstall the earlier version of Office. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
  2. In the Currently installed programs list, click the Office program that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
  3. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click Yes.
After the earlier version of the Office program is uninstalled, install the 2007 Office program.

I was trying to install a program for my college

Your program did not install properly. Based on the error message "Resize32.ocx" or something it needs to run did not install properly. Uninstall through control panel-add/remove programs and reinstall.

Error when installing programs

First and easiest is to just reboot. If not, then click on Start->Run and type "regedit" without the quotes. Be very careful in here. You're going to be looking for the following key:
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Installer\InProgress
So, click on the little plus sign to next to HKEY_Local_Machine, then on the plus sign next to Software.. and so on for all the keys there until you reach the InProgress key. If it's there, select it with your mouse and click the Delete button on your keyboard. Be sure not to make any other changes. Reboot, and see if the problem is fixed.
If you are not comfortable in the registry, uninstall office and reinstall it. I know that is nasty, but it will work.
Please leave rating. thank you
