Weather king Aj3601

The unit will come on and might be okay for a couple of days, then again it might stop within a couple of hours. It comes back on after a few hours, why is this. Next My unit was running fine but when I walked in the hall where the filter is I smelt a strong oder that smelled like oil or something and thought I seen some fog like smoke hasn't happened since but i took the filter an electronic something or another, Its a reusable filter, and tore it down and cleaned it real good. Still we have the problem of it shutting off and taking forever to come back on. Miserable please help

Yes about a year or less ago, But took off the grill a week ago and it looked good. I can turn the attic fan on and it seems to help it kick in sooner.

Sounds like you have a freon leak hence the smel of oil and fog the unit runs because it has a low pressure cut out to protect the compressor when the pressure builds up enought to close this switch the unit runs as thwe pressure drops the switch cut off you will need to have a leak test done on the Evaprator coil inside

it could be tripping out on hig pressure as well have you taken a garden hoase and washed the outdoor coil off

Unit will not come on at all. Is it possible that a fuse has blown? Weather King 10/2006 Model# 13AJA36A01

If the unit will not come on at all, it is probably either the contactor-relay or capacitor, and since I always receommend that you replace it as a set, it doesn't matter which.

My Weather King AC unit model number 13AJA48A01 is freezing over. What can I do to fix it.

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. First be sure that the blower is working next make sure the filter is not plugged. If these two things are okay then you probably have a low freon charge in the system. Which also means you have a leak so I would have the system leak checked and repaired before having someone just dump freon into the unit as its just going to leak back out.

FAN WILL RUN BUT COMPRESSOR COMES ON WHEN IT WANTS TOO. WEATHER KING 12AJA4201 PS LAYED OFF OVER A YEAR PAYMENT COULD BE A PROBLEM YOUR HELP WOULD BE A BLESSING

weather kings are like that (junk),i install 8 or more a week on new houses, they all do that.yours is a 3.5 ton which is what i set.if the t-stat calles for a/c within 5 mins of it turning off after a cycle, the compressor has a protection built in which keeps the compressor from coming right back on when it just stoped.they say its to keep it from burning up from going on and off alot.

When the unit does what you say does the fan motor outside stop also , if it does that means it is in defrost mode and should kick back over to normal after the system heats up the coil enough

Unit is over heating and setting the internal limit switch. Capacitor an/or outdoor fan could be failing.

What part do we replace first?

Door safety switch. You are sure you have power to furnace? jump out the G and R terminals on the furnace control board or turn your thermostat to Fan On to check. Make sure the door safety switch is in the closed position. Fan should come on. No fan, no power to unit. Check Emergency switch, circuit breaker and there may be a fuseable link in the wiring somewhere either above the unit or a condensate safety switch. Get power to the unit. Also check to see if there is a small fuse in the wiring inside the furnace or on the circuit board.

Heater works after being off a while

If the unit is remote control try to unplug the supply of the unit(or off and on again circuit breaker) and operate the unit again. If it wont work then call a qualified technician to check the unit, maybe there is a problem with the unit control.
