I have a 2.5 -8 Belvar 8A scope and I want to buy some flip up scope cover lens for it.But to order it they want exact sizes, I only have a tape measure and I came up with 1-6/8 for the eye peice and 1-15/16 for the objective. They asked 2.5 x 8 x ? ,I don't see any other numbers after 2.5 x8.Can you help? Thanks ,Dan

Dan, your best bet is to buy a set of calipers ($25) or find a friend with one, or take the scope to the shop where you expect to buy the lens covers and have them measure it for you. The butler creek covers come in a easily opened container and most shops will let you check fit in the shop. the 2.5 x 8 x ? does not really help you as the ? is the objective lens diameter. While this is good to know, different scope companies 40mm scopes may take different cover sizes as the tube outside diameter may be different.

Hope this helps

Measure the mm of the scope ends and find caps that are a mm or two larger and you've got it.

Use a caliper to measure the size of the bell you want to purchase the cover for. MidwayUsa has charts on their website. The eyepiece chart is here:

My lens is cracked on my flip cam, how do i fix it?

They aren't too hard to open up and take apart. There's a glass piece the covers the actual lens and I'm guessing that is what broke. Once the flip is in pieces you can remove the glass piece and it will operate fine without it. If you want to replace it, you can either get a broken flip and use it for parts, but there's a pretty sticky, tough ring of tape holding that glass piece in place. You could also try a very clear piece of plexiglass and cut it to size. Haven't tried that one myself, but it may work.

My flip video has a broken lens. Where can I get this repaired?

If you've never received an answer to this, I have a Flip UltraHD that had the same problem. I took pictures all along the way of fixing it. Let me know if you'd like to see how to fix it! Not hard at all if you're GENTLE!

Shame on Flip for not making this simpler!

Lost lens to bushnell 18-1561

I have a similar problem with my Bushnell 18-1650!

As you can see below, the plastic thing that holds the lens snapped off from the telescope's diagonal, and is now lost along with the eyepieces. This is a childhood scope I'm trying to rescue!

Should I:
1) glue a new eyepiece straight onto the diagonal
2) buy a new diagonal AND eyepiece
Or do I need to just buy a new telescope?

Thanks in advance.

Just came into a used tasco 302048 . Everything is upside down!!!

the scope is made for both terrestrial viewing and astronomical. In order to see terrestrially upright, you need an inverting STAR DIAGONAL. The eyepiece will do nothing for inverting the image. you might have 2 diagonals in the kit that came wih the scope. the diagonal is the part that fits into the scope. then you place the eyepiece in the diagonal. if you have 2 diagonals , one is a 90 degree angle,(astronomical) and one is a 45 degree angle, (terrestrial). the eyepieces change the magnification of the image. the bigger the number (9mm, 20mm, 26mm,) the smaller the image. the smaller the number , the bigger the image gets. the number is inverse of the image. Hope this helps.

Cap cover pentax 3x-9x scopes

You do not define "cap cover" as to whether it is a 'lens cap' of which the Objective Lens comes in varying sizes with the 3x9 scope depending on the model.
However, you should be able to find one in the size you need at most any Firearms supply store. I have even found a lens cap for a Leupold at a Walmart.
Barring that, go to; www.pentaxsportoptics.com, they should be able to help you in your quest.

Good luck. :)
