    Thanks so much caroldon !
    One of my problems is that the power supply board has one holding screw and is pivoting but wont come off. I wonder if there is a latch of some sort.

You will need to remove the power supply unit to check the output to the printer board. If there is power coming to the mother board then the power supply is ok and the printer board is faulty. If there is power shorting on connection to the board then also the printer board is faulty. If there is no DC output at the secondary of the power supply unit ( SPMS) then check if any fuse/fusible resistor in the secondary section is open. Use a meter to check and change.
However if the fault centers on the mother board, then the printer main board must be replaced.
evaluate cost and decide.

Hp computer tower will not go on

Would that be an LED (Light Emitting Diode), blinking on the back of the Power Supply?

If so, instead of being an LED that indicates the Power Supply has power to it, it has now turned into a diagnostic LED (Light), and is telling you the Power Supply is bad.

Do you have an economical multimeter, so I can guide you in testing the 3 low DC Voltages; that come out of the Power Supply?
An economical multimeter can be purchased for as little as $5 to $12.
I have seen them on checkout aisle racks, in major discount stores.

The dangerous high AC voltage, is kept contained within the metal case of the Power Supply.
(100 to 240 Volts depending on what country you are in)

The Power Supply is a Converter.
It converts the high AC voltage into 3 low DC Voltages;
3.3 Volts, 5 Volts, and 12 Volts.
In comparison two D cell flashlight batteries produce 3 Volts DC.

OR;
Use a KNOWN to be good, Compatible power supply; for a temporary test unit.

{"Honey, I'm going to borrow the Power Supply out of your computer.
I'll put it back when I'm done."
"What? I'll be sleeping on the couch? K"} (Lol!)

Also, is the inside of the computer dirty?
(Computer Unplugged from power, Anti-Static Procedures FOLLOWED)

Let's start here......

Also, what is the Product Number?
Back of computer tower, white Service Tag.
P/N = Product Number

My Lexmark X9350 All-in-One doesn't turn on.

Actually, the printer's power cord should be plugged in to a power source having 110-220V output. The power supply (the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached) converts that power to 30V. Basically, if your wall outlet has power output of 110-220V, you won't need a transformer to convert that to 30V. That's the job of the printer's power supply. Hope this helps. If you need more clarification, place a comment so I can get back to it. Thanks.

Ok, if there are NO light, then the Poser Supply, may be faulty, or disconnected. Please Check, Wall Unit?, Plugged in? Turned On? at printer too. Try another cord, socket, if all these still do not get power restored, then you have a problem with the printer, most likely the PS, if it is an external supply, you need to check, that has Voltage coming out. OR replace it with a known good one and check, if it still doesn't work, with a know good PSA, then the printer is faulty.

Pc will not come on no power , have checked power outlet, as well as power cable, to no avail ...........still will not come on

Have you checked the toggle switch on the back of the power supply? Make sure it is turned to the correct voltage (110 in the US). Still no power? Check the connection on the motherboard. Make sure the power supply lead from the front panel switch to the motherboard is connected. Then check all power connections to the motherboard. Secure or correct as needed. (follow the motherboard manual's diagram as to where each lead should go)

HP C6180 all in one

Have an HP C6180 that would not turn on, no power. Unplugged and replugged the unit in the back - no fix. Unplugged the unit at the wall socket, reconnected and I thought I heard a faint click in the power supply. Hit the on button and the C6180 powered up - no issues. Without knowing for sure, possibly the power supply has some type of surge arrest safety switch.
