Question about HP Pavilion dv5-1150us NoteBook
Hello, I just bought a HP Windows 7 dv5 laptop a couple days ago. I installed everything on it (microsoft word, office, anti-virus, etc) and it was working very well. However, I left the laptop on and fell asleep. A couple hours later, the laptop DID NOT TURN ON! I have tried everything, taking both the AC cord and battery out, pressing the power button for 30 seconds and then putting the AC power & battery back in, but nothing has worked. There is definetely nothing wrong with the power adapter as it works well for my other computer. Also, when I press the power button with the AC power connected, a little white light flashes a couple of times for only a second. I also NEVER dropped my computer. P.S. I'm really computer illiterate, so can you make the instructions simple? Thankyouthankyouthankyou SOOO much in advance!
Try this. Disconnect the AC power cord, take the battery out. Then press the power button and hold it for 30 seconds.
Then use AC cord to power it back up.
Let me know if that works.

SOURCE: Laptop won't start
If you can afford it a new laptop will be your best bet. They have really come down in price. I have a Compaq laptop that had the same problem. If I took the battery out and keep it unplugged for a few days it would boot up but only for about an hour then shut down and not reboot until I did the same thing. This has gone on for about a year. I even disassembled it , put in a new CMOS battery and the same. I was just about to give up on it and one day it just started working and has been for about a month now. I'm sure it is going to go back out but it will give me a chance to do some more testing on it. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: hp notebook zd8000 wont power on
In this case i suggest you to remove the battery from the notebook and try to power on the notebook with the help of AC adapter so that you come to know whether the issue is with the Battery or AC adapter. If still the notebook is not getting power with AC adapter you need to take for service retailer store and fix the issue.

Have you tried to boot the laptop with the power cable connected? Is the charging indicator on when you connect it to the adapter? If the charging indicator does not light up, check if your adapter output and try booting it with the power cable connected.

The issue might be with the wireless drivers. As you have upgraded the operating system of your notebook to windows 7, the drivers might not be compatible with it. You may have to install the wireless drivers for windows 7
