-You can try to reset the router but before doing that you may need to take note of the ISP settings like user name/password if there's any.
-You can also try to update the firmware of the router.

My e2000 keeps diconnecting from two older computer using window xp but my windows vista computer stays very well connected. what is my problem?

I think the type of wireless security on your network might be WPA2. Some times the WPA2 is not supported on Windows XP and the wireless connection will drop.
Open the setup page of the router and check the wireless settings of the network.
Also set the wireless channel to fixed number 6.
You will need to access the setup page of the router.
See if that works.

I just purchased a new lap top. i have net gear 123for my tower. cannot seem to get the lap top to work. it keeps asking for a security code. Do not know what it is

no we cant know what it is, it needs to be connected via the cable first, then access the router's setup and change the wireless security key.

sometimes the security key is printed on the back of the router

Displays no hard drive found wen installing win xp

You have to go to BIOS setup, find HDD setup, and change the value to the other one (there are only two possibilities). That will fix your problem. The problem is caused by the fact that the lap top was designed for vista, not XP. and the lap top contains SATA HDD. when installing XP pre-installation doesn't have SATA drivers, so your OS can not see the HDD. Change it in BIOS, and you trouble is gone

Cant install D-Link WBR-2310 on vista

The error message seems very common when it comes to software installation on a Vista machine. It very likely indicates that the software you are trying to install is not working correctly with Windows Vista.
The latest version for the 2310 model "Quick Router Setup" software is 4.10. (You can find that here.) If you tried to install an older version, completely uninstall it before trying to install the latest one.

Also check which revision of the router you have here.

In general: If you are trying to install the D-Link software on your laptop - you don't have to do that. These softwares usually make your initial setup easier, but you don't gain any advantages on the long run.You can configure your router simply from a web interface. Open a browser, type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. The default username is "admin" and the password is blank (nothing),

If you need more information, you can go to the D-Link webpage and also download a manual from there (look in the left pane)
