I don't know what the original problem is, but if you are getting all the updates and Microsoft says you have a genuine copy, then that is what it is.
If winver says you have XP Pro, then that is what you have.

Hi,
There are two resons , why people tend to do the same.

1. The orginal user might have had applications or programs that were compatible with windows XP pro and not with windows vista basic.

2. The windows XP pro, is better that windows vista home , as professional is made ,to join a group of computers together over a network like an office , windows vista is not.

3. windows XP pro requires less system resorces as a result better speed on the tasks

For more on the same

Hi There,

Windows Media Center Edition is exactly that; an "Edition" of XP Pro. If you go to My Computer and then click on System Properties, you will likely be comforted to see that you indeed have Windows Media Center Edition 2005.

Universal xp pro key code

I'm sorry to say, but legally no one can give you a key to install XP. We have no way of verifying that bought a legitimate copy of Windows XP Professional, or if you just downloaded a pirated copy.

Sorry for not being able to help any further than this, but I hope you understand that we CAN'T help you with this request.

Pro tools m-powered problem

You may need to check to see which "service pack" you are currently on.

See below requirements:

System Software — Windows XP & Vista
  • Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition
    • 32-bit OS Installation Only
  • Windows XP Professional or Home Edition
    • With Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3

  • Not Supported:
    • Windows Vista 64-bit (any version)
    • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
    • Windows XP Media Center Edition
    • Windows 98, Me, 2000, NT, 95, 3.1, DOS

  • Not Tested:
    • Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition
    • Although Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, there are currently no known issues with Vista Home and Home Premium 32-bit operating systems and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 compared to the supported Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition operating systems.

Windows Vista SP1
There are currently no known issues with Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista based on our initial limited testing and customer feedback. Although full qualification with all Digidesign products has not been completed, we do not recommend against updating to SP1, given the number of important overall system fixes in SP1. We do recommend that you backup your system and create a restore point before updating to SP1, should you encounter any problems after installing the update.

Install Windows XP!
But back-up your drivers first.
Or take not of what they are called.
-
Windows XP Media Center Edition if you like High Quallity Graphic's.
Windows XP professional if you want Speed and multi tasking.
-
Or Windows Vista Home Basic.
-
Make sure you do not obtain illegal copy's. They can lead to viruses on install.

Then you need to BUY one here and I recommend XP Pro SP3 over
XP Home Edition. You will thank me if you try it any other way. Believe
Me, a pirated copy of Microsoft Software is not worth the trouble.
