Question about Proscan 19LB30QD 19 in. LCD HDTV/DVD Combo

1 Answer

We bought this tv for our grandson that was on his way to college. when he set it the volume did not work very well. I turn the volume all the way up to the last setting and you can only hear the tv from about 3 feet away so you almost have to be on top of it. my question is this: can i hook up speakers to it to hear it even though the speakers in the tv do not work properly? we are in our late 60's and do not really know about electronics. Our grandson gave us the tv back to return but we lost our reciept. please respond quickly. Thank you and sincerely.

Yes, you can plug a set of computer speakers into the earphone jack. This is the second jack from the top (just below the power input). This is a 3.5 mm jack.

Please note that volume adjustment may not be possible with the TV volume control. (Thus you control the volume from the speakers.)

I hope this helps.

Very low volume on all drums.

I don't think there is anything wrong, it has a very low line level output intentionally. This is to minimize distortion to an amp or mixer. Mine is the same and also a different brand. It is actually made so you could play it through a stereo without damaging it.

I forgot the number lock code on my LG 4G lte vs840 how do i reset it

I believe your talking about the Lucid VS840. If so, you can try two things. 1. You should be able to use your grandsons google act username and password to unlock. Or 2. Do a factory reset. And this is how. Turn off the phone > Hold and Press Power keys + Volume down key at the same time for about 12 seconds > Release keys at "Permanently Erase User Data & Reset Settings?" > Press Power key to comfirm > Press Power key again, then just wait till the reset / master / hard reset finish it process. Hope this helps :)

Ok so 1 of my kidos has the RCA 20F420T tv, and i guess there is no headphone jack hole, so i went and bought adapter that plugs into the av jacks, still doesnt work can you please help!!!

Without knowing the specifics on this adapter - I can provide only provide some clues as to how this works.

Basically, the A/V jacks on a TV has a "fixed" audio output level - this means that the sound levels on the A/V jacks is NOT controlled by the volume control of the TV itself. You should be able to set the TV volume to minimum and then use the adapter's volume control to make the earphone / headphone sound louder and softer. Your TV however, may have a setting in the menu that can change the audio from "fixed" to "variable". If set to "variable", when turning the volume down for the TV's built in speakers will also turn the volume down on the A/V jacks as well. You do not want this to work like that as the sound in the headphones and the TV speakers will be same - instead of the TV speakers being off and the headphones on.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thanks!

Just bought E420VL 42" LCD

Go into menu, sound set-up, and switch SRS to off. It's a vizio thing they came up with to act like "Smart Sound" where commercials won't be louder. It is total BS and does not work, it makes your normal sound fluctuate. Worked on all 3 of my Vizios. Hope it helps you.

Have to turn the volume to 80-100 to hear the tv in my bedroom

If it's just playing DVD's that the volume is low some DVD players have their own volume control.
You could look at the back of your tv and see if the dvd or psp is hooked up to a "line in" or a 'variable' input. The Line in is a constant audio source. The variable will be also affected by the volume on the TV.

(no volume}

Good day.
Have you checked on the settings? Maybe the speaker function was turned off?
Also, the speaker migth got busted or the audio IC may be the root of this.
Please check.
