Question about Dell 926 All-In-One InkJet Printer

All my printers cords are plugged in correctly but as i go to print it says that the printer isn't communicating with the computer, I've tried everything that they suggest and nothing seems to work.

Uninstal all of the printer software if your down loading drivers from the web download and save to your desk top. disconnect from the web disable your anti virus software and firewall. then run the install from your desktop. follow the same steps if your using a disk anti virus and firewall disabled. alot of these software programs see all in one drivers as virus like activity and wont allow a complete install.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

Printer (z816) cannot communicate wih computer (WinXP) though it communicated with earlier computer, also XP, and though I installed printer software.

The magenta isn't printing correctly, and the printer keeps telling me to remove tape from the magenta cartridge. There isn't any tape on it. I've tried resetting it several times.


Its sounds as though the printer isnt picking up the cartridges properly, try removing it and cleaning the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer

1. Click "Add a printer".
2. Click "Add a network printer".
3. Click "The printer that I want isn't listed".
4. Select "Add a printer using TCP/IP". Click "Next".
5. Type in the print server's IP address. Click "Next".
6. Select "Custom". Click "Settings".
7. Change Protocol to "LPR". In LPR Settings, type in "lp1". Click "OK".
8. Click "Next". Select your printer. If your printer isn't listed, click "Windows Update". If still not listed, install driver from manufacturer's website.
9. Print a test page!

Lexmark 1270 scans but will not print


With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into the USB port until told to do so.

To fix a fouled install :
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the sofware asks for the printer connect it and continue
