Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan with remote. Only the fan works on HIGH. How do you reset remote so it works on all settings? The says set F/C on the back with fcc ID:CHQ8BT7096T. On the front from top to bottom , Left to right. The remote has a digital screen. Then a button labeled fanauto, a blu button with a fan then a for/rev button. The next row of buttons are a timer, green button with a light and then one with light delay. The last row of buttons has 2, one up one down with label Temp./Set hour. I can not find label on the fan itself. It is, the fan, white and the light is integral to the fan itself. It has five blades and is attached to ceilg by a pole.

Seems like the remote doesn't work. Change the batteries. Verify the switch settings in the battery compartment match the setting of the switches on the very top of the fan itself. I have a Hampton Bay - dd4540b.jpg

Remote does not work. Have relaced remote and receiver. Fan and light turn on and off at any time by themself!!

Change the frequency settings. Your neighbor's fan is probably on the same setting you have now. If you didn't have problems before you put in the new receiver, change to original settings.

The light on the remote is a battery light. First mistake was buying a store brand fan which are mostly low-end parts. Try adding a different remote w/receiver.

Motor will barely run

If it's when you set the remote on med or high, check to make sure the switch on the fan isn't set on low. Turn the remote to high and pull the chain switch to see if it goes faster. Someone may have tried to turn it on or off with the chain, forgetting about the remote. Good luck.

Hampton Bay 60" Brookedale fan remote not working

The Remote (TRANSMITTER) control AND the RECEIVER must both be set to the same CODE in order for the REMOTE to operate the fan.
!!WARNING!! YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICITY ZONE!!
The RECEIVER is located in the CANOPY, the part of the fan assembly next to the ceiling which is also called the Hanger Bracket.
At the bottom of the Canopy you will see what looks like a large flat washer. Rotate the washer counter-clock wise to release it.
Then rotate the Canopy counter-clock wise to release and lower it. You will see the RECEIVER, which will have a short antenna at one end, tucked in among the electrical wire and bracket. Simply pull the RECEIVER out and you will see the CODE switches. Remember to set both devices to the same CODE.
Good luck. :)
