The model you have has an evaporator feature, that normally evaporates the left over condensation. However, there are times that the humidity level may be to high to handle all of the left over condensation. In which case, the pan would need to be drained. In most instances, a plastic low sided container would suffice. But, if you run the AC unit in a continual mode, there's a good chance not all the left over condensation would be evaporated. That's what the hose is for. Not sure why there are 2 of them. Generally there's only one. Anyway, the unit also will shut down automatically, if the pan gets full and needs to be emptied. It will not run until it's emptied. But, I caution you not always rely on that. Anything can go wrong when you're not at home.

Hope this helped you understand how the unit operates. If you have any more questions, call Danby's Customer Support Dept. The 800 number is in your Owner's Manual. They're good folks and will do what's necessary to help you.

Water leakages out the front are usually attributed to poor drainage. IE , the wall unit is not sloping slightly to the rear, or in the case of a split system, the drain hose is not directed down and away from inside. I would suggets checking the filters first. If the filters are blocked, and the cooling is set really low, its possible for the coil to start freezing and thus, leak water out the front. If the filters are clean and the coil is still freezing, you may have a gas shortage . Eventually when the gas runs out, the water leak will stop and the unit wont cool at all. If the system is working properly, on cooling mode, there should be cold air inside and the unit should be blowing hot air outside. If on heating mode, the reverse happens...

LG LST243C-2

- Check your air filter at the indoor if clean.
- Check your evaporator fins if clean.
- Check if no icing in your evaporator and outdoor pipes.
- If your air filter and evaporator fins is clean and icing is present then your unit is under charge.
- When your indoor drips check your drain pipe if there are water comes out. If no water drain from your drain pipes then your drainage is restricted.
- Flush your drainage with water using your garden hose to flush out dirts from your drainage.
