Ran out of oil,and when we press the reset button the hot water boiler won't come on

When you run out of oil,you usually need to bleed the pump. The pump has what looks like a brake bleed fitting sticking up off it.
Do not start the burner until after you've bled the pump and cleaned up any spill of oil. don-ohio

Hi, my firebrid 115 wouldnt start tuedsay after running out of oil, had a deliverary of oil and my oil man bled the boiler as it had a air lock, the heating was working fine the rest of the day and a

He may have bled the lines but did he also bleed the fuel filter as well. All oil tanks have an oil filter in them, sometimes two. He could hav bleed the lines but still had some residual air in the line, the filter, or somewhere else along the supplu side. I"m sure if you call and explain the situation they will come and rebleed the rest of the air out of the system, especially if you're a regular customer. Also have them check the tank fuel filter, if it's clogged that too would keep oil from getting to the burners.

Reillo 40 oil burner wont start

If I read correctly, you should have a pump for your fuel oil. If you are not getting anything out of the bleed screw I would suggest you start there, see if it is running, then check for clogged fuel lines, or possibly filter. Do you have a pilot light or HSI? Does that come on?

Alpha oil fired cooker (aga type) & central heating breakdown.

you dont say but i presume you have an early model 1996-2000. these had the most horrid burners ever. its wasnt untill later when the ecoflam burners were used that problems that you describe were elimanated as a standard every day problem. better still was the much later 800 series ecoflam twin burn as fitted in the rayburn 800 series this is the aga company that closed down the alpha and now produce the same cooker with better burners.

Riello oil burner RDB with red plastic cover at the front wont ignite. I've tried bleeding the valve. The motor seems to make an electrical humming noise for about 12 secs, then the system attempts to...

The motor should spin when the boiler is switched on. One end of the motor spins the fan the other end works the pump. The control box then starts the transformer that starts a spark. The control box then opens up the oil. The boiler should then light if any of the above or the boiler does not light, the boiler will go to lockout.
From what you say the motor is not spinning, thus it could be the motor or more like the pump.

YOU SHOULD NOT PLAY WITHE THE PUMP

If the wrong setting is made it could 1 burn out the back of your boiler 2 go to soot and the boilers in an hour would be filled up and become a fire risk. 3 not start at all if the setting is too low it is a fine line to get it to work and needs the right tools.
