Water is leaking around the edges of the basket and into the shots. Is this an o-ring gasket or a group gasket issue?

Group gasket issue, depending on the age of the machine the gasket might be dirty, use a Q-tip or your group brush to clean, if machine has over 2 years use then replace group gasket.

it sounds like you need a new group head gasket, or the group head gasket is not installed properly.
If it is a new machine, you probably just need to reseat the group head gasket. If it is a used machine, the gasket is probably worn, they need replacement every 6-12 months.
The Starbucks Sirena is made by Saeco, and is also called the Saeco Sirena.
You can find the group head gasket (brew head gasket), and any other parts from the following:

Here are a few videos of the machine in use:

Hi,

You have to take apart the system for changing the gaskets. If you are not a technical savvy don't try for it.Here is the parts diagram for your machine. Many of my fixya customers took apart the system to change the valve and they suffered a lot to fix it again back. All the best.

Water leaks around groop

There is a gasket "o" ring around the group where the filter sits. This it might be dirty or tear out. Try to clean with brush and if you still have leak then replace it. Visit Partsguru.com for the brush and other parts

We have a new coffee house with new machines. Our rancilio sometimes has water coming out all around the basket when trying to pull a shot. What is causing this?

You need to change the group head gasket. They only last about 1 year and then should be changed. Get 2 because they usually fail on Friday and you have a party on Saturday.
The gaskets get hard from the heat and don’t form to the filter any more so they leak.
When you get the new gasket.
Empty everything out of the machine (water tank, drip tray, etc.) Turn the machine upside down on a towel. This way you can see what your are doing.
Remove the filter screen and diffuser from the brew head. The black O-ring is your gasket. Carefully pry it out. Clean the opening good before you install the new gasket. Insert the gasket with the beveled side down (on the inside edge of the O-ring is the bevel). Once you have the gasket in place, use the portafilter to finish seating the gasket.

Check the shower screen and water flow. Press the brew button and watch how the water flows, is it a nice shower or a blob of water, is it in the middle of the screen or close to the edge. Also check the groups where they are connected to the boiler, if it is welded skip the bottom great, if not and there are gaskets, nuts and bolts, and water is flowing on the edge of the screen then it is possible that the diffuser gasket needs to be replaced.

I have a Briel MultiPro espresso maker. When I try to make coffee, water/coffee starts running over the edge of the basket and it "spurts" coffee and grounds after a few seconds.

The group head gasket needs to be cleaned or replaced. First get a brush and clean put the head, then insert back wash filter(basket with no holes) in portafilter, make sure that it is seated properly(atleast 90° angle with machine), then run the head if nothing leaks around the portafilter the gasket is fine, if it leaks then replace the gasket. Make sure that you press the stop button before removing the back wash filter.

Water is dripping out the side of the porta filter

You will have to replace the group gasket, you can also try using a group brush to clean any coffee grounds up there, but you will most likely have to replace the group gasket.
