Question about Canon EOS Rebel T2 with 28-90 lens 35mm Film Camera
I purchased a second-hand canon eos rebel t2 (300x) 35mm SLR. On my first time using the camera, i bought brand new batteries and a new roll of 200iso film, and tried to take pics on a sunny day, using full auto mode. The camera switched on, autofocus worked fine etc but every time i tried to take a photo, the low battery icon flashes (even though its new, and the camera registers it as full the rest of the time). The shutter fires and the viewfinder goes dark for a split second as normal, but the film doesn't wind on and it just flashes "low battery". The same thing happens in all other picture modes - though i have managed a few successful pics using manual mode and once using portrait mode. I have tried several different films and batteries but the problem persists.
What type of batteries did you buy?
For digital cameras, you want to use batteries with high milliamp hour (mah) rating: "2500 mah" if they are rechargeable.
If you bought regular batteries, you want to use good quality. Look for the "e2" or "better for digital equipment" type.
Does the camera have a DC power plug option? Try taking pictures with it plugged in if it does. If it still malfunctions with power right from the wall, then you bought a bad camera.
