Question about Tools & Hardware - Others

1 Answer

I have an old Regina 12" twin brush floor polisher, and brushes. I can't figure out how to remove the brushes on it to replace them with the extra brushes. The extra brushes have a cross on the stem that seems like it would lock into a similar cross pattern on the polisher, but I don't see a way to remove the old brushes.

Mine just snap in. To remove, I just pull them out.

How do I replace electric brushes in the motor

It will take far longer for me on how to do this, but I did it myself using this fantastic espares video on You Tube. Carbon brushes are really easy to remove as are other areas. X1A, X1.1, X4 and X5 Extra are all the same model, save from cosmetic differences, different motor outputs and bigger floor head and brush roller on the X5.

I have 2 makita variable speed polishers....i have fixed them myself many times..its either brushes or cord...My older one is two years old,and it is really acting up replaced brushes yesterday and stopped...

look for excessive lambs wool in the area around the armature/commutator. Then look for the commutator being cupped real bad and if so you would need to replace it or have it turned at a repair shop if it is not that bad. Clean the brush tubes also to make sure the brushes move freely.

Brush roller not spinning. belt, spindle okay. roller taken out and cleaned, no thread. replaced but no dice. ???

Use only BISSELL Style 10 Replacement Belts (#32074) in your BISSELL PowerForce Bagless.
  1. Unplug cleaner from electrical outlet.
  2. With Rotating Floor Brush removed from vacuum cleaner, grasp old Drive Belt and remove from Motor Pulley. Discard old Drive Belt.
  3. Place new Drive Belt over Motor Pulley and stretch other end over Rotating Floor Brush in the space between the bristles.
  4. Place ends of Rotating Floor Brush down into slots on sides as shown.
  5. Turn Rotating Floor Brush by hand several times in the direction of Motor Pulley. If properly installed, Drive Belt will center itself on Rotating Brush.
  6. Reposition Brush Cover and snap back into place. Check to be sure all three latches are secured.
  7. When you turn on the vacuum, do you see the motor that spins the belt spinning at the bottom? If not, it sounds like you may have a burned out motor.

Need to replace belt and cannot figure how to take it apart to get at the belt --- Took Screws off on the bottom but could not get to the belt

You have already removed the screws so lift the brush cover off. Then grasp rotating floor brush at both ends and lift. Clean strings, hair and other debris from rotating brush, paying close attention to the brush ends. Clean the debris from motor pulley and drive belt areas.Grasp old drive belt and remove from motor pulley. Place new drive belt over motor pulley and stretch other end over rotating floor brush in the space between the bristles. Place the ends of the rotating floor brush down into slots on the sides. Turn the rotating floor brush by hand several times in the direction of motor pulley. If installed properly, drive belt will center itself on rotating brush. Reposition brush cover and screw back into place. I hope that this helps you!

Electrolux Floor Pro shampooer and polisher (Aerus)

I'm not sure what your question is, but you'll probably need to take this to an Aerus Electrolux store for repair. They may not have the parts on hand, but can order them for you. While there, ask them to show you how to remove the brushes, or be sure to tell everyone who uses it how.

Great hose suction, awful floor performance

Lose of suction usually means a clog either in the hose, dirt inlet by the brush roll and clogged filters. But a belt that has stretched to where it won't turn the brush roll under load will make it appear as no suction. If you have replaced the belt in a while, I would try that.

Hoover floor mate wet/dry - brushes do not spin

Hey there bankshots, if you look at the bottom of the head of the vacuum, you should be able to see the brushes. Their are some screws to remove to gain access to the inside of the bottom panel. When opened, you should be able to see the entire spinning brush assembly. On one side, there is an area which has no brushes and may contain the remnents of your belt which most likely is the problem. These belts are often replaced and not the sign of any thing to worry about. Replacements can be found at registered repair facilities. Alternately, a professional will do it for you for a modest charge. Also your warranty may cover this if your machine is less than a year old, or you purchased the extra protection from the seller. Good Luck!
