If you only your files to be copied in the other or any storage disk then you can remove the hard disk of your machine and then attached it to the other functional machine. in there you can browse and copy all the important files. after copying all your files then you can take back the hard drive to your non functional machine and then install new operating system. documentation found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316941

Hope this will solve the problem.
1.From the File menu in MSWord document click on Page setup.
2.In the page setup window click on Margins tab.
3.In the Orientation applet of Margins Page select Landscape.
4.Next click on Paper tab.
5.From the Paper size drop down list in Paper page select Letter.
6.Finally click on OK button at the bottom of the Page setup window.
7.Now type in the poem on the left hand side and the birth news on the right hand side by indenting them using the Tab key from your keyboard.

If you go into the program files folder of the Digital Wave Player where the files are found, are they in there?

If nothing has been deleted in the recycle bin yet, check in there and see if they can be restored.

They are an extension of your hard drive. Use them like you would a CD or diskette. You can have as many as you like. Ideally you just plug them in to a USB port and within a few seconds the system recognizes them and gives them a new drive letter (F:?). You can then open them, move files to them, read, write delete files on them.

The big advantage to Flash Drives is that they are virtually indestructable. I put my vital backups on mine every weekend and store it around my neck or away from the system that it is backing up.

Today, people are more concious about their identity. If you have ever lost your identity then you will understand. I scanned my SS card, birth certificate, driver's license (front and back), passport and a recent utility bill. Moved these files to my flash (thumb drive) and then passworded them. Now, if I ever loose these vital documents (fire, flood, earthquake) I can recover them in a very short period of time to prove my identity. A subset, unpassworded, might be important to also keep on this in case of a car accident or medical emergency so someone else can notify doctors, etc.

I wouldn't be without one now and everyone in my family has several.
