There is no menu button on the orginal remote or the tv itself. I just had basic cable put on the tv. How do I get the remote to sync with the tv. I bought a new universal remote and put in the four digit code 1918 and nothing happens. What do I do next?

in the manual that came with the new remote control, in the section that explains how to program the codes, there should be instructions on how to search for codes not listed under tv codes. it may take a little while to find, so try to be patient. if you can't find it that way take it back to where you got it and explain your problem. they should take it back and let you get a different name brand of universal remote.

i wanted to add that on some tv's there is a switch on the back, usually close to the cable input that allows you to switch from antenna to cable.
