SOURCE: how do i transfer images from computer back to camera?

If the pictures disappeared from the memory card of the camera, it may be bad. I would try a couple first to see if they are accepted.
The memory can be dealt with as with any storage device.
You didn't say if you had a Mac or PC since the procedure and terminology may not be the same.
If a PC running under Windows, attach your camera to the system and power it up if necessary, many will do this automatically. Then, open 'My Computer' and look at the listed disk drives. C: & probably D: will be your system's hard drive (partioned) E: is often the optical drive (CD-DVD) and if there are no other internal drives, your camera should appear as a 'removable drive.' If you find that, the two ends are communicating.
If you 'open' the camera's 'drive' you can generally copy/paste or drag files from your system's hard drive to the camera's memory card.

How to put pictures from a computer onto poweshot a480 camera?

First of all, if you've edited the pictures in any way (opening a picture in a photo editing program and then saving it without making any changes counts as editing) then the camera most likely won't be able to display the images.

You can transfer files (not just pictures) to the memory card using a card reader. Plug the card into the reader and it will appear to your computer as another hard drive. Simply drag-n-drop files to it the same way you copy other files on your computer.

Camera says "communication error" when trying to transfer images to computer. Why?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

How to edit a picture??

Some cameras have very limited editing in the camera, but the best way is to transfer your pics onto a computer and use one of the many image editing packages available to edit it there. You can download some of these free from the internet, but you probably already have one on your computer.

Sony cybershot P200 says 'File Error'

Hi,

The LCD screen may display a FILE ERROR message when trying to view a still image on the camera if the image was rotated, modified and overwritten using editing software on a computer. To play images you have taken on the camera, it is recommended that you do not make any changes to the original image files. I suggest that you transfer the images from the Camera to the computer and check if it works. After transferring the images, get the Memory formatted from the Camera and start capturing new images. The edited images will not get displayed in the Camera again. Please try not to edit the images in the Computer without transferring it.

Thanks.

How do I the delete images so I can re-use the memory card?

To delete photos from the SmartMedia memory card in your camera, you must first download them to your computer. Follow this procedure to transfer your photos from the camera to your computer: 1. Make sure that your PDC 640 is connected to your computer and both are turned on. The "PC" icon should appear on the status panel on the top of the camera. 2. Open the PhotoMAX application on your PC. 3. Click Get Photo. Note: If you are using PhotoMAX Pro to transfer pictures, you need to select PDC 640 Camera from the Select Source dialog box (select File > Acquire > Select Source), and then select File > Acquire. 4. Click Album or flashPath. 5. Select the album in which you want to save your images, or click New Album to create a new album. 6. Click Camera or Scanner. 7. Select PDC 640 from the Sources list on the Select Source window, and then click Select. The PDC 640 Twain Driver window opens. 8. Click Get All to transfer all the images in the camera memory to your computer, or select the images you want to transfer to your computer and click Get Selected. The images are transferred to the selected album, which is located in the PhotoMAX Albums folder. The PDC 640 Twain Driver window closes. 9. To edit a picture, double-click the image in the album that you want. The image appears in the image tray.

Can I transfer photos back to the card after editing the images?

Nikon complies with the industry standard DCF (Design Rule for Camera File Systems) format which governs the file structure of images on memory cards as well as file naming and other image properties. Due to the constraints of this file system, images that have been edited may not be able to be read by the camera when copied back to the card. The card can, however, be used to move images (or other files) just like any other removable disk. To do this connect the camera to the computer using the "MSC" USB mode (where supported) or use a third-party USB memory card reader. The camera's card will then appear like any other "Removable Device" and files can be copied to it. Nikon cannot offer additional assistance in transferring images back to the card or viewing edited images on the camera.
