Perhaps clean the connections between the toner-chips and the printer. As the are lokated below the toner cartridges in your printer the tend to get dirty and cleaning them can make the difference... If this does not help, try the old cartridges and see what message you get. If that is a different one your cartridges doesn't match your printer and you should get replace ones. Greetz, Robert.
OK... YOU HAVE TWO POSSIBILITIES... EITHER THE LEVER ON THE TOP COVER BROKE OR THE ONE ON THE PRINTER CARTRIDGE...
IF ITS THE ONE ON THE TOP COVER THEN YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE LEVER HANDLE COMPLETELY AND GET A PLYERS AND USE IT TO TURN THE METAL THE LEVER IS ATTACHED TO OR FIGURE OUT WHERE THE THE LEVER GETS THE MACHINE TO LATCH AND USE A FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER AND SLIP THE LATCH... THEN CONTACT KONICA MINOLTA AND PURCHASE A NEW LEVER...
IF ITS THE TONER LEVER THATS BROKEN... YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GET A PLYERS... TAKE A FIRM GRIP ON THE TONER AND REMOVE THE TONER IN THE SAME WAY THAT YOU WOULD IF THE LATCH WAS THERE... IF ITS BEEN PUT IN ODD THEN IT MIGHT BE STUCK... YOU MIGHT NEED TO USE A FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER ON THE ENDS TO HELP THE PROCESS ALONG...
Firstly buy a black toner refill and a "CHIP". The chip is a small printed circuit carrying a chip, mounted on the top right hand corner of the toner cartridge held in by a small cross point screw.
Remove the cartridge and looking at the right end you will see a round (About 3/4 inch dia) plastic bung. Lift this bung out and carefully refill the cartridge (The refill supplier will probably clarify this I am saying). Replace the bung, clean up all the messy dust and remove the old chip replacing it with the new one. Make sure you dont lose the little screw and insert it fully without over turning it. Thereafter all should be OK.
You can press the 'rotate toner' button which is the blue one next to the toner indicators on the top panel or you can open it up and with two hands on either side of the entire cartridge, turn it manually. You will hear clicking sounds as you turn it. I've done this safely replacing all four toners twice over now.
Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
If one of the cartridges needs to be changed, the printer will recognize this and it will automatically rotate that cartridge to the front of the printer.
Open the panel and follow the instructions that are shown on a sticker on the inside of the access panel. Removing the cartridges is not difficult. They do have a slight groove near the top that acts as a handle. You may have to rotate the cartridge up as you lift it in order to get it to come out. DO NOT FORCE IT. Once again, please consult the sticker on the inside of the access panel for details on cartridge replacement.
If you need to replace more than one cartridge, press the rotate button to rotate the cartridges to the one that needs replacing and repeat the process.
DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE THE SEALING STRIP OUT OF THE NEW TONER CARTRIDGE BEFORE PUTTING IT IN AS THIS TAB CAN AND MOST LIKELY WILL DAMAGE THE PRINTER. (I've seen it happen.)
After you have replaced the toner cartridges properly, the printer should rotate the drum a few times to prime the cartridges. This is normal. You should see a readout on the LCD screen of the toner levels. (You may have to press a few buttons to see the status on them.)
================================================== If you need toner cartridges, head to your nearest office supply store such as Staples or Office Depot for replacements. (Staples will price match other stores if you give them proof of the other store's price.) When I last worked with this machine, the cartridges were still kind of expensive...but worth it for the quality that this machine gives you. ==================================================
