My Light On My Laptop Is Out And I Buy This Laptop In February 2008 Its Not Even A Year. It Has Not Been Drop Or Any Thing, I Don't See A Number To Call Either.

Without seeing it, I'd guess the power unit might have failed, or it could be the motherboard. Modern computers have a system management controller you can try resetting, but on a 15 year old laptop I don't know what the equivalent would be, if it even exists. If it's the motherboard chances are it'll be cheaper to buy a new computer.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured January 3, 2007, to February 29, 2012, 2009-2012 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured July 6, 2008, to February 29, 2012, 2007-2012 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured September 15, 2006, to February 29, 2012, and 2007-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured August 17, 2006, to March 18, 2010. The affected vehicles, equipped with the power liftgate option, have gas struts that hold the power liftgate up when open. These struts may prematurely wear and the open liftgate may suddenly fall.

If the open liftgate unexpectedly falls, it may strike a person, increasing their risk of injury.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the software for the power liftgate actuator motor control unit so that the motor will prevent the rapid closing of the lift gate, free of charge. Owners were mailed interim notices on August 3, 2015. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Saturn customer service at 1-800-553-6000. GM's number for this recall is 15240.

so HP does drop support in10 years, they even say that.


the BUG battery main is long ago bad and shorted, keep the battery out for ever, or buy a new one. end big battery facts, keep it out.
now run on AC ? power ok, only (wall power!)
then get a new coin cell battery HP RTC stated in the service manual . the manual to do that is missing now.
HP is trimming off line books on this pc.as we type.
2008 is the worst year for any laptop, the solder ball years from hell.
but if the PC runs ok mostly (you never once said tHAT)
The its not bad nvida chip inside. (causes full black screens or lines)

$2 part for sure bad at 10years old 7 is par.

Manufacturer warranty is typically 1 year limited parts. This means if a hardware, NOT software goes bad within 1 year of purchase date you can contact acer to get a RMA number and ship them the laptop for a part replacement. This does not cover accidental damage, ie you drop the laptop, split something on it or drop something on it.
Places like best buy will sell two types of extended warranties, and are typically 3 years. The cheaper will cover the same thing as the manufacturer but for 3 years. They also sell a more expensive warranty which will cover accidental damage as well. None of these warranties will cover acts of god, theft or software problems
These extended warranties will be the same thing if purchased from acer or any other computer retailer. Also sometimes they are longer periods of time like 5 years.

If you pull the right side out (as you look at the front), get you ear down to the fan exhaust area and turn the set on. If you do not hear the fan turn or feel air being blown out, then you have a defective fan. It is a common problem.

yes you must be careful here, it is mostlikely your oil, although it could possibly be coolant too, with summertime approching you do not want to drive around without your fluids topped off. check each one of the fluids I mentioned and add if needed

This is the price to pay for pirated stuff!, I suggest you uninstall your software and re-install it but before doing so make sure that your internet is disabled (manually disconnect from you provider or disable your wifi card). Then do your work, saves your files and connect to internet without running your software if you need to send a draft to a friend.

Yes, rechargeable batteries go bad whether or not they're used, and are only meant to last for a year or two.

This computer when bought brand new has an warranty of one year. Dig up your reciept and call BestBuy. They will help you *s*
