Unplug the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Properly secure the power cord in the power adapter. Other end should be plugged to the power outlet in the wall. Bypass any surge device or power strip as they can cause low amperage. Replug power adapter behind the printer and properly secure it. If printer won't automatically turn on, press the power button. If problem continues, it's a possible defective power adapter or a defective printer. I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark technical support to further investigate the problem.

Connect usb port

Check all computer connections and cords. Is the powerstrip for surge protector light indicator bar (usually inside the off/on switch itself) on?
All it takes is a pet to walk over it or a foot to bump a cord and break the power connection. Mine do it all the time. Check the power on/off button on the printer to see if it accidently got powered down.

Reset my Dell 926 all in one printer

Hi,

The Dell 926 printer is an All-In-One model that you can use as a printer, scanner and a fax machine. When the printer becomes unresponsive there may be a communication problem between the printer and your computer. To correct this type of problem you need to first verify that the USB connector cable is not malfunctioning. You can do this by resetting the communication settings between the computer and the printer.
y1 Press the "Power" button to turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet or the power strip.

Brand new brother HL-2140 get service call error (all lights flashing for more than 10 minutes). First time to setup. Don't know how to proceed.

You should have a manual with your new printer, please read it before doing anything with your printer. I'll try my best to show you how to set it up properly for the first time. Make sure to plug the right cable at the right place. There should be 2 basic cable for your printer to work properly; the power cord and the USB cord. Power cord is thicker than the USB cord (black). One end goes to the printer and the other to the power outlet. The USB cable is the data cable of your printer (white/transparent). One end should go to the printer and the other to the PC. First, plug the other end of the USB cable to the printer and the other end to the PC. Next, plug in the power cable to the printer going to the power outlet. Press the power button and you can now use the CD that came with the printer to install the driver. If the lights still persist, then check the toner and the tray. It should be properly fitted inside. Also check the paper, there could be a paper stuck inside.
Hope this helps . . .

Is there a power cord other than the usb?

Yes, there definitely is either a power cord or a power adaptor unit for any printer.
The power delivered via USB socket can be enough for a pendrive, even a small external HDD, a mouse etc., but it's definitely not enough to run even a smallest printer.

Laptop wont recognize USB connection to turn printer on

Yes, you need a separate power cord, as this printer needs more power than a USB cable can provide. It should have come with this power cord, but if it didn't you will have to contact the store you purchased it from, or Canon directly, for the cable. If it only has 2 prongs, it's not using a standard PC power cable, so you need the specific one made for your printer.
