Lux Legacy shuting off by itself

I turn the vac on and use it for about a minute then it shuts off on its own.
About a minute later it will turn on again for about 15 seconds and then shut
off. It acts to me like the motor is getting hot but there is no smell to indicate
that is the problem.
I put new bags so that isn't the problem.

Lux Legacy vacuum cuts off every few minutes. It comes back on almost immediately. It has new bag and after filter and is not clogged.

Check filter door cover is on tight, latch is locked. This happened to me with another brand.

Vacuum cleaner Lux model motor fails to start

This vacuum has a 10 year warranty on the motor, and 5 years on everything else. Look in the yellow pages under vacuums, for the AERUS dealer, that is the new name for the traditional Electrolux company.....

Lux legacy

Actually the problem is inside of the canister itself. You need to change a part called the control valve. Occaisonally when fine particles get inside of the valve it damages the inside of the valve, sending a false reading to the main motor, causing it to shut off. This is a relatively quick and easy repair and should be recieved on a same day basis.

Sounds funny/shutting off after few minutes

Yup! Clogged hose on the back of the cannister! Unit is designed to shut off for 30 minutes when this happens to protect your motor. Remove top of hose where debris enters the cannister through a filter above it, then remove the other end of the hose from the bottom of the back of the cannister, take it outside and use something long that'll fit inside the hose to force out all the clogged debris and hair through the top of the hose.
