Question about Motorola Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hi, I have MC9090G. It works fine while that is online. It goes to suspend mode automatically or push the power button. When I push the power button again, there is a red cross on the Wireless card icon and I can see PCCARD-PHOTON2 instead of PCCARD-PHOTON1 at the Network and Dial-up Connection. There is a message in the Wireless log "UnBinding Adapter". Need to perform a warm boot and it works fine again. I tried to use CAM already, but that didn't help. Thanks, Sandor

MC9190 WLAN Problem

To permanently disable the Suspend Mode on a MC9190:
On your PC, create an empty text file, then type the 2 following lines:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts]
"BattSuspendTimeout" = dword:00000000

Save the file, then change the extension to ".reg". This changes the text file into a registry file.
Copy the registry file in the /Application folder of the scanner gun. Cold boot the device. Your MC9190 will no longer go to sleep mode, or "suspend mode".

To automatically enable the Wireless antenna at startup, create another registry file, then type the 2 following lines:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WLAN]
"InitialState"=dword:00000000
Save the file, and copy it into the /Application folder of the scanner gun. Cold boot the device.

Sleep mode on a Windows 7 PC saves power without you having to turn your computer off and without losing any work. This option cuts the power to your monitor, powers down the hard drive and pauses all functions until you awaken the computer from hibernation. Click the "Start" button in the lower left corner of your desktop. In the lower right corner of the Start menu, next to the "Shut Down" button, is a button labeled with a small, right-pointing arrow. Mouse over the arrow. The Shut Down menu appears. Point at "Sleep" and click on this option. Your Windows 7 computer goes into sleep mode. Wake your computer from sleep mode by jiggling the mouse. There may be a delay of a few seconds before your hardware powers on. All of your open programs are still open and your work is intact, just as you left it before the computer entered sleep mode. Configure your Windows 7 PC to go into sleep mode automatically when it is not used for a certain amount of time. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Click "System and Security." Click "Power Options." A menu opens. Click on "Choose when the computer sleeps" and select the number of minutes of inactivity. Sony LBT W5000

According to Page 46 of the LBT-W5000 Operating Instructions:
"The display stars flashing as soon as you plug in the power cord even though you haven't turned on the system (demonstration mode).
Press DISPLAY (for LBT-W5000 / W300 / XB700 / XB500) or DEMO (STANDBY) (for other models) while the system is off. If the system is in the Power Saving mode, press POWER SAVE / DEMO (STANDBY) (for LBT-W5000 / W300 / XB700 / XB500). The demonstration appears automatically the first time you plug in the power cord, or if there is a power outage lasting longer than half a day."
I tested this today, as my LBT-W5000 was in Demonstration Mode. It definitely works. The only catch is (at least on the W5000), and it's a minor one, you have to reset your clock afterwards.

HP desktop monitor problem

hi try this ,,,
  1. Ensure the video cable is connected (and connected to the correct video port).
  2. Turn off the monitor using the monitor's power button and then restart the monitor.
  3. Cycle the power on the monitor as follows:
  4. Turn off the monitor. The power light on the monitor should be off. Leave the computer turned on.
  5. Unplug the power cord.
  6. Wait 5 seconds.
  7. Plug in the power cord.
  8. Press the power button on the monitor to turn on the monitor. One of two things happens:
    1. The image from the computer displays on the monitor and you can use the computer again. This indicates that the monitor was unable to detect that the computer had awakened from suspend mode. Turn the monitor off when it is not being used or disable suspend mode. For some computers, updating the BIOS corrects these types of suspend problems.
    2. The power light on the monitor comes on but the screen displays one of the messages again. The monitor is not receiving a video signal from the computer that it can detect and use. Continue using these steps to adjust the Windows display resolution to the Monitor's native (default) resolution
    3. Connect the monitor to another computer that you know is working to determine if the monitor should be serviced or replaced:
      • If the monitor displays an image from another computer, you know that the monitor works. Troubleshoot the video connection and graphics adapter on the computer.
      • If the monitor remain blank when connected to another computer, the monitor signal processing hardware may be bad. The monitor should be repaired or replaced.
      hope it will work for u .. little_angel

It won't turn on!

Flashing green battery means it is in suspend mode. Pushing the power button should bring it out of suspension, however, one of the reasons I deactivate both suspend and hibernate mode is because the seldom work right. I would disconnect your A/C power cord and remove your battery from the laptop. After about 30 seconds plug them back in and your commuter should start again. Let us know how things go.
